Thanksgiving Time

I was able to help out with both Jayden and Skyler’s class “Feasts”. Aysia thoroughly enjoyed herself with third helpings from each class. Thanksgiving Day was a little chaotic for me since I was on-call for the hospital. We had an early Dinner with Taylor’s Mom which I completely missed then a later dinner with the Yates’. Luckily I was able to stay around and enjoy the second meal. It was so good to see so many family members we rarely see anymore. Thank you everyone for letting us share a memorable holiday with you!

Thanksgiving Crafts

The kids love creating and making holiday crafts. This year we made little Turkey terracotta centerpieces that the kids were able to put some goodies in. They also made some Turkey lanterns that we lit and placed on the porch for thanksgiving night.

Family Nights

We love hanging out as a family, but unfortunately with our schedules it doesn’t happen as often as we like. We try to make at least one night a week where we can enjoy being with just us. We took the kids to Boondock’s where they road go-carts and played lazer-tag.

HALLOWEEEEEEEEEN!!!

We love Halloween! We can be like kids again and dress up and be what ever we want. The boys initially wanted to be super heroes; however, once Aysia put on her pirate costume for the first time, they both decided they wanted to follow in their little sisters footsteps. So we decided to be a family of pirates. Taylor had a great limp to go along with his costume due to his recovering knee. Mom, Dad and Judi came to celebrate the evening with soup in a pumpkin and lots of ghoulish goodies!

Preparing for Halloween

So we carved the traditional pumpkins, created a SCARY gingerbread haunted house, ate caramel apples and popcorn, watched the nightmare before Christmas and decorated the house…. Now all we have to do is wait until the big day!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Park City

We decided to stay a couple of nights in Park City while Noelle’s races were going on. So we enjoyed a weekend just hanging out with family. We were able to make it to the Lego exhibit in downtown Park City which was incredible. There are some very bored people out there that have way too much time on their hands. We also went shopping where we found little Lacee modeling with the manikins on display while taking a ride on their family dog. She was very sad to have to say goodbye.

Skeleton Time – Literally!

Yes, it is that time of year again. Goblins and ghosts and witches too! But scariest of all is the Skeleton. Noelle started the season off perfect. She took 1st place on all four races in the team trials. We are so proud of her. She is currently in Whistler, Canada practicing on the Olympic track. Great Job Noelle! We miss you!!!

Cornbelly’s

Noelle and I decided to pack up and take all of the kids to Thanksgiving point for some Halloween fun. The boys shot corn out of cannons, we took a tractor train ride through the corn field, jumped on the inflated enormous trampolines, and made it out of the corn maze alive.

Autumn is in the Air

With the colors on the leaves changing, we have a family tradition to take a drive up the canyon and look at the fall leaves. We made it up to Tibble Fork Reservoir where we had a little picnic, skipped rocks, and enjoyed the autumn air.

Party time!

I have to say, I absolutely love teaching the 6-7 years olds at church. They are like little adults who occasionally yell out crazy things that most of their parents would be embarrassed about. I had a class “breakfast-pajama” party with them and had a great time. I will be sad when I have to say goodbye at the end of the year.

Fall Soccer

Soccer season has officially ended and only in time for the cold weather. Jayden was able to attend soccer camp this summer, and I must say it really seemed to pay off. He is excited for basketball season to start again though. Here we go again!

JUNGLE TIME!!!

Yes, with the cooler weather we have had to be creative and find a few indoor activities. So I took all of the kids, including my temporary adoptee, to Jungle Jim’s. Lacee, Aysia and I rode the roller coaster and loved it. Jayden and Skyler’s favorite ride were the bumper cars.

Brighton Cabin

Once again, we were able to take a quick trip to the cabin up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Unfortunately for Taylor, he had knee surgery the day we went up. He had his ACL repaired and will be down for a while. He was quite the trooper though and seemed to sleep most of the time. We were able to hike a little and take a drive through guardsman’s pass to Park City. The fall leaves were amazing. The kids were definitely spoiled by their Great Aunt Jan and Grandma Woobie. Thank you for the great trip! It was much needed!
