Thanksgiving 2014
For Thanksgiving this year, it was the Pikus "on year". However, Rob and Gege's family ended up in New York to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade and Noelle and Janson were invited to Mexico with other family members. With Mom and Dad leaving for a cruise in a couple of days, Shauna volunteered her home for Thanksgiving. Taylor, the kids and I all went up Wednesday evening where we visited, made dinner, played games and started preparing music for our neighbor gifts. It was very relaxing to be able to spend a few days up there. On Thanksgiving, the girls cooked most of the day. I think we were talking a little too much because Shauna had a hard time concentrating on the ingredients and the order which to prepare the stuffing. We had a great time. And of course, after cooking all day, dinner was over in a matter of 30 minutes. Many of us sat around and visited a little longer and then the clean up began which was fairly quick. Then we played games, did a little black Friday shopping and visited some more. It was a great Thanksgiving. Thank you Smoot Family for the invite!!
Timeout for Women
Noelle was asked to speak at a few of the locations where the inspirational conference "Timeout for Women" were being hosted. I was able to attend the Friday night session when Noelle and Sheri Dew were the main speakers. They did an incredible job. There were around 7,000 women in attendance. Noelle spoke for about 45 minutes and never missed a beat. She had us laughing, crying and laughing again. She really has a talent in motivational speaking. I hope she continues to be able to uplift others with her amazing talent. Mom and I went away with such a spiritual high. I would love to make it a yearly tradition!
Girls Afternoon
Aysia's friend, Sage, invited her to go with her Mom, Diana, for a drink and treat at Swigs. They enjoyed their little treat and then went to the local craft store to go shopping. Aysia bought a little picture to paint. They had a great afternoon together.
PeterPan
A local high school was performing PeterPan for their Autumn play. I thought it would be a fun play to take the kids to and invited Grandma and Grandpa along with Lacee and Traycen to join us. The students did an amazing job and the lead (PeterPan) was exceptional! The kids were glued to their seats the entire time.
