LAVA HOT SPRINGS 2014

For our yearly Pikus vacation, Mom reserved several rooms in Pocatello for all of us. The first day, most people were just coming into town. For those that were there, they were able to drive into Lava Hot Springs and go swimming. Taylor and I stayed behind for Zach's wedding dinner and Taylor stayed for his wedding the next day. I continued on and spent the rest of the trip with the family. Taylor followed a day later. The second day, we all went into town where Mom rented tubes for a couple of hours to float down the river. Only a couple of tubes tipped. It was a perfect river for all the little ones. Just enough rapids to make it exciting. A few water fights broke out as well. The weather was perfect for us as well. We then headed to a nearby park where we ate lunch and played games. Most of us played a few games of steal the flag. We definitely have some fierce competitors in our family. We then all got ready for our Chuck-wagon dinner. We were able to take a couple of covered wagons behind the horses to our destination. It started to rain on the way there, but luckily we were covered. The dinner was great and some of us started to line dance to the music. We had a great time as always and were ready for some sleep before the big day of swimming.
The third day, we all headed down to Lava Hot Springs to swim. Once again, the weather held out and was perfect. Taylor, Kyle, Jayden, Rob, Jared, Shauna, Noelle, Janson and I all dared each other to jump from the top. We all took the challenge and did it gracefully (some with a few more screams than others). We were able to get Kassidi to jump off of the second tier after a lot of coaxing. We had most of the pool chanting her name. She finally went off when Jayden went off with her. The girls decided to give us a little dance show they had been practicing throughout the day. It was fun to get all of the cousins together. After a fun day swimming, we all headed into town for ice-cream. Exhausted, we grabbed dinner and took it back to the hotel where the kids wanted to swim again. Shauna and I jumped in and played Marco Polo and keep away with them. It was a great trip. We always look forward to the Pikus get-togethers. Thanks Mom and Dad!!!
