Going to the Ballet!
It was fun for the girls to get together for the Cinderella Ballet! Aysia and Lacee had such a good time and were so excited to dress up in their princess dresses. We went to dinner first and then to the show. Ballet West did an incredible job with the show.
Gold Medalist Favorite
Noelle’s last race of the year was in Sochi, Russia (the location of the next winter Olympic games). She was amazing and took the gold even with her 3 herniated discs that gave her trouble on the last run. We all were at our house watching the race including Janson and the kids. It was so much fun to cheer her on. She was welcomed home with a neighborhood waiting. She gave an amazing welcome home speech along with Janson. It has been a tough season for her, although it has been her most successful. She has had a lot of adversity, but she has held strong! Skyler was required to do a big report on a famous person. He decided to do it on Noelle. Since she had returned, she surprised him at his class when he was giving his report. He was definitely a favorite that day. Noelle was able to sign many autographs.
Happy Valentine's Day!!
The kids love the holidays. Valentine ’s Day is always exciting. The kids valentine’s boxes were original this year with the basketball hoop for Skyler and the Lego box for Jayden. Aysia made a special one at school. I was able to help out with Jayden’s class party with a bunch of minute to win it games. Such a magical age!!!
Right, Left, Left, Right....
Noelle really wanted to do something a little different before we left. She needed a change of pace, so she suggested tobogganing. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but it was amazing! We took a short train ride up to a small town called Bever. That is where we rented the sleds and off we went. It was a few miles of sled course in and out of small towns. We slid on a specific path made for these sleds. Mom and I doubled the first time. She was steering with her feet from behind while I gave the instructions which way to turn. We got up to about 25 miles per hour. It was a blast. Lacee and I took a second run together and only tipped once. It is a must do again!!
Sightseeing in Europe
It was fun to take a little time while in Switzerland to see some of the nearby towns. It is so different from the U.S. Everything is so much older, but incredible. We found a couple of old churches and a castle to look at with Jared and Jodi. And of course, another stop to a bakery was a must.
SILVER!
The awards ceremonies were held that night. In between runs, we were able to look around the city and even ran into a couple of Dukes. They were nice enough to let us take a picture with them. They were there for the Cresta which is a “gentleman’s sport” in Europe. It is a lot like the skeleton. Just a little different track. With the 2nd place finish, she automatically was given a spot onto the world cup team next year. Great Job Noelle!!!
On your Mark, Get set.... SLIDE!!
Noelle raced over 2 days. 4 runs total. She was in second place after the 1st day and was able to hold on for a second place finish in the World Championships. She did an amazing job! She was a little tired after the 1st day due to kids waking up in the middle of the night. So Jared, Jodi, Mom and I took them into town and looked around a few shops and of course had to stop at a few bakeries along the way!
