Lobster Tails and Good Company

Last summer, Noelle was called up to be a contestant on the Price is Right. Unfortunately she didn’t make it up on stage, but was given some great prizes. One of the prizes was a $300 gift Certificate to a fresh Lobster store in Chicago. So we had a seafood night. Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Noelle and Janson all came over. I have to brag a little about Taylor. For those of you who don’t know him, he is an amazing cook. He has a talent for coming up with his own recipes. So he made Halibut, shrimp, steak and 3 different kinds of Lobster tails. I haven’t always liked seafood, but Taylor has definitely made me a lover of it now.

Trick or Treat?

Jayden and Skyler decided to be Star Wars characters, so we thought it would be fun to all dress up as a theme. Aysia really wanted to be a princess, so I thought it would be perfect for her to be Princess Leia and Taylor and I would find something to match. It all came to a stop when Aysia realized that Princess Leia didn't wear a crown and a beautiful dress. So Taylor and I decided to be Fred and Wilma Flintstone and Aysia was the princess she wanted to be. Unfortunately it was drizzling a little this Halloween and a little cold. We went to Noelle and Janson's for soup and bread bowls, then we headed back home to pass out candy. There was a descent turnout of kids considering the cold weather. Kassidi and Skyler really made the rounds and ended up with a full bag of candy.

Party Time!

We try to make it a tradition to have a Halloween party every year. This year I volunteered my house. Unfortunately, I was unable to take pictures during the party, but have a few of all of the costumes. We had such a great time. We really had a great time decorating with black lights, strobe lights, misters, ghosts, headstones and pumpkins. Thanks to Shauna and Kassidi for coming down a day early, we were able to pull it off. We divided everyone into 4 groups and had stations for food. Each room had a different theme and course. Some had the chance to eat dessert first and others the side dishes first. We had a pasta bar which worked well with the number of people. We played bingo, had relays and even a cake walk. Thanks everyone for making it such a great party.

Going, Going, Gone....

So Skyler finally lost his first tooth and his second one followed only a week later. It was very loose, so I asked him if I could just give it a little tug. He was very brave. It came right out. After he lost his second tooth, he informed me after school one day that he had lost a third. His school had even given him a little tooth treasure box to put it in. I was a little confused though because I was not aware of any other tooth being loose. When I opened the box and found a small fraction of a tooth and discovered it came from one of his molars, I couldn’t help but laugh. I told him, unfortunately he probably had a cavity and we needed to visit the dentist. Poor Guy, he came home thinking he would get a visit from the Tooth Fairy again, not the Dentist. We will keep you posted.

October Fun

October is always a great month to start spending time with family. Pumpkin Patches are always my favorite. I was able to chaperone Aysia’s fieldtrip to a pumpkin patch and invite Lacee and Noelle. The girl’s had a great time. We also went to CornBelly’s one night with Noelle, Janson, and Mom and Dad. It is becoming one of our yearly traditions. We were lucky to have Kassidi (My niece) come down on the weekend of Halloween. We had such a great time. We made eyeballs for breakfast, carved pumpkins, decorated sugar cookies and watched the boys parade around in their costumes at their school.

Saying Goodbye to Summer!

The first day of school marks the nearing of the end of summer. As much as I love the fall season, I always miss the long summer days and nights. Softball will always be a favorite summer past-time. Also, the Orem SummerFest has always been a yearly tradition and this year was even more so due to Noelle being nominated to be the Grand Marshall of the parade. From 4th of July, to family trips, Lake Powell and stormy nights, I will always love summer.
