JUNGLE TIME!!!

Yes, with the cooler weather we have had to be creative and find a few indoor activities. So I took all of the kids, including my temporary adoptee, to Jungle Jim’s. Lacee, Aysia and I rode the roller coaster and loved it. Jayden and Skyler’s favorite ride were the bumper cars.

Brighton Cabin

Once again, we were able to take a quick trip to the cabin up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Unfortunately for Taylor, he had knee surgery the day we went up. He had his ACL repaired and will be down for a while. He was quite the trooper though and seemed to sleep most of the time. We were able to hike a little and take a drive through guardsman’s pass to Park City. The fall leaves were amazing. The kids were definitely spoiled by their Great Aunt Jan and Grandma Woobie. Thank you for the great trip! It was much needed!

Makeup Woes

So I thought it would be a while before Aysia asked if she could start wearing makeup, but oh no, she decided not to ask and just start without my permission. I was actually quite impressed that she knew the mascara was to be applied within the vicinity of the eye. I can’t wait to see what she plans on trying at age 3!

First Day Of School

I am always quite sad when the first day of school rolls around. I love the lazy summer days that we can fill with our own fun. However, the new schedule and early bed times are always a plus. I always miss the long summer nights when the cold weather begins, but I will always look forward to fall and the changing leaves.

CALIFORNIA 2009

We had the opportunity to take a nice looong trip to California just before school started. We thought it would be a very relaxing trip with very little planned, however that quickly changed. My Mom and Dad, Noelle, Janson and Lacee came along and we even met up with Rob and Gege’s cute family in California for a couple of days. We had a couple of great days at the beach. We roasted Marshmallows over a fire pit, ate lots of great food and enjoyed the body surfing. We were able to visit with my Uncle Mike and Aunt Pat for an afternoon which is always something to look forward to. We hit the shopping district for one day and bought a few school clothes for the boys. What a great place!!! I could spend a whole week there. Then we took a boat ride to Catalina Island where we snorkeled, rode bikes and relaxed on the beach. We decided to try our luck on the PRICE IS RIGHT. Well, as it turns out, I will once again be on National Television due to my famous sister Noelle. Yes, she was called to Contestants row on the very last bidding. Unfortunately, she did not make it up on stage, but had a few great laughs with Drew! I believe the air date is November 16th. We will keep you posted. Then we finally made it to good old DISNEY. What a great place. The boys favorite ride was Buzz Light Year. We also enjoyed the Tower of Terror. Then it was time to pack up and go home – Always disappointing.

Pikus Family Campout

Mom reserved a few campsites at Ledgefork Campground near Oakley. With 3 trailers, 11 adults, 11 children and a few friendly squirrels, we had a great time and a little sleep. Luckily Rob’s trailer housed most of us which was interesting with 6 kids ages 4 and under. Let’s just say our sleep was a precious commodity. We hiked, biked, fished, played, painted, cooked and lounged. The kids even made a little chipmunk trap which proved successful. Of course they wanted to take the captured critter home, but he escaped before the issue was pursued. The food was incredible and we all agreed we needed to fast for the next 3 days to feel normal again. Thanks for the great vacation Pikus family!

Pioneer Day

We spent the day supporting our niece Kassidi in her softball tournament in Pleasant Grove. We were so proud of her. Then we relaxed, went miniature golfing which Taylor won and watched a few fireworks from a distance.

Fish, Fish & more Fish

Taylor had the opportunity to travel to Alaska for an amazing fishing trip with his Grandpa, Dad, Brother-in-law and Uncles. They were lucky enough to travel with Adam Eakle from Roughin' it out doors on KUTV. They ended up filming throughout the trip which aired at the end of July. Troy, Taylor's Uncle was awarded the "Biggest Fish of the Trip". It weighed in around 110lbs. We now have a freezer full of halibut and salmon. Lucky Kids!!!!

Discovery Children’s Museum

While Mikelle and Ace were up for a week visit, we decided to make a day at the Gateway. The Children’s Museum is so fun for kids of all ages. They loved the construction site, store and water area the best. We then went for lunch and lounged around the fountains. What a great way to spend a summer day!

Where we belong – THE ZOO!

We finally felt at home while visiting the zoo. The kids were their wild normal selves and messy little eaters, but they finally kicked us out. We must have been too crazy for them. We had such a great time with both Grandma Robinson and Pikus to join us. Mikelle and Ace were up for the week so we were able to enjoy some of the local activities we don’t typically find time for. Bethany and her two adorable kids met with us as well. We went to the elephant show and bird show which was really entertaining and highly recommended. Thanks for the great day gals!!!
