Jazz with style

We love being able to head down town to watch Jazz games. Taylor surprised us all with Jazz jerseys this year. We were able to make it up with Taylor’s friend Harvey and his kids as well as Grandma Woobie. The boys were really excited to run into Thurl Bailey. It’s always amazing to see how big they really are in person. The television doesn’t give them the justice they deserve.

Moving Up!

I have always heard of people say “cherish these moments when your kids are young…. they go by way to quickly”. I am now realizing this. Jayden turned 9 and was able to advance from a bear to a weblo in the scouting program. He is such an amazing boy and we are so proud of him!

The dreaded Kindergarten Shots

Aysia has been talking about kindergarten non-stop for the past few months and now she has officially stopped! I explained we had to go to the doctor before kindergarten, but didn’t give her much more detail than that. The boys, however, informed her of the dreaded shots. She wasn’t fully aware of what she was getting herself into. She did well, but definitely did not like it. Thank goodness they gave her a goody bag with toys and treats after it was all finished. I think she thinks she will be getting shots on a daily basis in kindergarten. I pray the first day of school goes well!!!

Lions & Tigers & Bears... Oh My!

Of course it is our yearly tradition to go to the zoo. We always like to go in the spring. It seems as though the animals are a little more active at that time. We went with Noelle, the cousins, and Grandma Pikus. They were renovating areas to make room for the new polar bear exhibit. We look forward to seeing them next year!

Creative Imaginations

Skyler has had a very creative side ever since he was able to hold a crayon. He is an amazing artist and has a great imagination. We decided to put him in an art class and he loved it as expected. At the end of the 10 week class, he was able to show off some of his talent at the art show. Mrs. Doodlebugs art class was well worth it!

Geo Caching

I had never been Geo Caching before, but Noelle and Janson decided to drag me and the kids along for a little adventure. It took us a while to find the first site. We never found our “treasure”. I had to get back to Auri, so the older kids followed along for another adventure and found a little box with a rock. Of course they put it back for the next person to find. I would like to try again and hopefully find something next time. It was like our little treasure hunt.

Spring Break 2012!!

We wanted to go out of town for spring break, but our budget was limited so we decided to spend it around the area. Taylor and I wanted to surprise the kids with an overnighter at a local hotel with an indoor water park. On the way there, we went by Taylor's old house in Stansbury Park where Taylor spent much of his younger years. It is a fun little community. He had a lot of great memories there. We then travled to the hotel we reserved and swam our little hearts out. It's amazing that a little local get away could be so much fun. It was fun just hanging out with our little family.

Easter Fun

Our Easter fun began on Saturday with the annual Easter egg hunt. We are so lucky to live so close to such a large park. It is where the annual Easter Egg Hunt is held every year. The kids always come out with several eggs and even a little money. It was fun to meet Noelle and the kids there. For Easter the next day, we were lucky enough to go to my parents for another Easter egg hunt and dinner. We had a whole acre to look for eggs. The kids all look for the grand prize "Golden Egg". Ammon was patient enough to find it hiding under a small dirt pile. Although all the Easter egg hunts and Easter baskets are fun, we always make sure the kids know why we celebrate the holiday. We had a family night about Christ and his resurrection. It is amazing how much the kids understand at such young ages. I am so grateful for a Savior that loved us enough to die for us.

Easter Morn

Easter morning was a little crazy this year with our early morning church. So we bathed Auri the night before and Wallah!!! Ready on time!

Easter Preparedness

It's imperative to color eggs before Easter. What would Easter be without colored eggs? Kassidi and Shauna came down to help prepare for our fun-filled Easter. The kids did a great job and even had a few egg wars after finishing. We always have a tradition of making eggs ala goldenrod for our Easter Breakfast.
