Up on the House Top...

Santa was very generous this year with our family. Jayden was given a Kindle, Skyler a nerf gun and bucky balls, Aysia loved her new princess dress ups and Auri her Lalaloopsy dolls. We have made it a tradition to stay in our PJ's and lounge around after opening presents and eating a great big Christmas breakfast. We invite anyone to come join us, but it is our time at our own home. Then it is off to the families in the evening for more celebrating and eating. This year we were invited to Grandma Woobies for a feast. She is an amazing cook. Thanks Grandma!

Cozy for Christmas

This year was the Pikus year for Christmas Eve. The party is always a lot of fun with a lot of laughs; Especially this year. Mom bought several pajama sets and bottoms to exchange for the white elephant gifts. Some of the kids weren’t happy with their final selection, mainly because they were the wrong gender of pajamas they ended up with. Rob sported some lovely women’s flannel pants. We also incorporated the talent show and nativity as a tradition. We always end our Christmas Eve parties early in order to spend alone time with our own families and get ready for Santa and his reindeer to come.

Faster Daddy, Faster...

Mikelle, John and the Boys came up after Christmas to come play. We had a great time with them. We decided to go sledding up the canyon. The long trains the kids made were entertaining to watch. Even little Coda (Grandma Woobie’s dog) had a few rides down the hill. Then back to Grandma's to relax and eat soup. What a great day to spend with the cousins!!

Christmas Parties and Fun!

We always look forward to the Yates' Christmas parties. The dice game is always a big hit and everyone walks away content with the several prizes they end up with. With 4 kids, we usually have a box full of knickknacks and trinkets. We also celebrated with the Helm family at Wheeler Farm. We had fun exchanging white elephant gifts and as you can see, Grandma Pikus decided to wear hers. Then on to the Robinson Barn Party in Draper. We love the wagon ride while singing carols and then Jan's stew is always amazing. The kids loved the swing and line dancing this year. Even Auri was loving the dance floor.

Temple Square

A tradition our family has every Christmas season is seeing the lights at Temple Square. It was extra special this year since Grandpa Yates and Grandma Dayna were able to join us with the boys.

1,2,3,4,5,6...

Jared and Jodi's cute family was in town and after a great big snowfall, we all decided to go to Grandma and Grandpa's to go sledding. We like the easy way... Jared drove Grandpa's 4-wheeler and attached all 13 kids to the back. Around and around the block they went. Rob and Gege's kids came along for the ride as well. A couple of broken sleds with no major injuries; we will call it a BIG success!!!
