The More the Merrier
We were lucky to have almost the entire family join us at the Pikus Chrismas Party this year. We missed Damond’s family as well as Chase and Kyler. The kids all made programs for us to follow. We watched each family share their talents, including Dad’s dance and song “ Yummy in my Tummy”. The kids performed the Nativity and even planned it by themselves. We had the white elephant exchange and of course fed our tummy’s all night long. Noelle and Janson announced that she was pregnant and not with one, but TWO BABIES!! We are so excited for the new family members to join us in July. Great job Mom on another Successful Pikus Christmas Party!
Cindy Lou Who for a day
Aysia loves to go all out for Crazy Hair Day at school. Since it was Christmas, we decided to go with the “Grinch”- Cindy Lou hairstyle. It got a little in the way at recess, but she said she loved it, just not every day!
Festival of Trees: Girls Night Out!
Noelle and I have always loved going to support the Festival of Trees. This year was a little unique for us because Rob wanted to buy a tree from the event, but was going to be out of town. So lucky for us, he let us borrow his Bentley and off we went to spend his $$$! We found the perfect tree for his family: Nightmare Before Christmas! He mentioned that they will keep it up all year long.
P-A-R-T-A-Y
The Yate’s have always known how to have a good time and the Christmas party this year was no exception. Troy and Darcy hosted this year and did a great job. We played around the world table tennis, read the nativity from the scriptures while the kids acted it out, and of course had to play the all time favorite “Dice Game”.
Yeehaw! It's Christmas time!
Another yearly tradition for our family is to attend the Robinson barn party with Grandma Woobie and Aunt Jan’s family. We didn’t get to ride on the wagon and sing Christmas Carols this time, but we were able to dance and hang out with some of our favorite people. We miss Grandpa Robinson, but knew he was there in spirit!
Gingerbread Competition
This year, instead of everyone working on one gingerbread house, we decided to make it a little competition. The teams ended up being the “Old Guys” vs the “Old Gals” vs the Boys vs the girls. It was amazing to see the creativity that the kids were able to come up with. It was hard to judge, especially since Janson and Taylor had to make their own village from scrap pieces. Grandma Pikus decided she liked them all so much that she displayed them above her cupboards and vowed to keep them up for the entire year!
Light the Night
I love the yearly Christmas traditions our family has continued to carry on. One of my favorites is visiting Temple Square. We were joined by Grandma and Grandpa Pikus, Noelle, Janson and cousins as well as Shauna and Chase. We went to dinner, wandered around the temple square and had hot chocolate. We didn’t miss the windows at the Macy’s department store filled with Christmas Scenes made out of candy.
Helm / Wright Christmas Party
It has become a tradition that we get together with Grandma Elaine’s side of the family to celebrate with a Christmas party. The kids had a great time making ornaments and bracelets, smashing a piƱata and even had a chance to sit on Santa’s lap. There were sports courts available for the older kids. It’s a great excuse to get to see some of our amazing family!
Great Fun and Good Company!
