Cousin Time

We are always lucky to have cousins come to visit us. We had our cousins from Idaho come stay as well as the local onesJ  There is never a dull moment. Jared and Jodi came to spend some time with us after Christmas. Lucky for us we had some great storms and there was plenty of snow for Grandpa to take the kids on a sledding ride behind the CanAm. Even Cash wanted to participate so we dug through some of Auri’s snow gear and dressed him up in a bright pink outfit with a snowfire hat. Then of course hot chocolate always follows a cold sledding ride.

Since it was cold out, the kids and cousins wanted to get out of the house as well as the cold. So we decided to take them to classic skating where they played in the bounce houses, lazer tagged, valiantly fought in nerf ball wars and skated.

Christmas 2016

Christmas was fairly uneventful. We have been with mom and dad for the past year and were able to spend the day lounging around the house. Jayden was given camping gear, Skyler an I-pad, Aysia an elf on the shelf (which was totally Santa’s doing, her mother would have never gotten her one) and Auri a new bike.  I love to spend holidays at home away from all of the crowds and people. It was definitely a great day spent with family!

December Worth Celebrating

At the annual Yates' Christmas party, we always look forward to the kids acting out the Nativity and then the infamous dice game! It is a mad dash of rolling dice, grabbing presents, stealing them away and losing them again all within a 5 minute time frame. What a great way to celebrate the Christmas Spirit!

The Robinson Barnyard party is always a great way to touch up on our country and line dancing. Unfortunately there weren't the hay rides this time, but enough music and dancing to keep the kids entertained. Grandma Woobie, John, Mikelle and cousins as well as Bethany and Ryan were able to join us this year. YeeeHaw!!

Now onto the ward Christmas party. It was a breakfast this year which was a nice change to free up some of the evenings. They had several musical numbers, one of which Aysia was able to participate in.

And Finally, Last but not least, the Pikus party. The Nativity is once again a must to perform. It is the sole reason we celebrate the season. The kids planned, coordinated and acted it out all on their own. They did a great job. Then we played our white elephant game which is always fun with a theme. This years theme was "Movies". It was a great December visiting with family and friends we don't see often enough!

One little, two little, three little dancers!

Auri has always loved to dance so I decided to put her in a regular dance class. She definitely looks forward to it every week. Her dance instructor let her class put on a little performance at the dance studio so we could see what they had been working on. I think Auri liked dressing up most of all!!

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas!

CHRISTMAS CARD 2016

We Miss You Chase!

Chase has been in Washington for the past 7 months and we wanted to let him know that we love him and are proud of him. Aysia came with me to the store and we picked out some fun gifts that he might like.  We love and Miss you Chase! You're amazing!

Go JAZZ!!

We always try to make it to a game played by our favorite basketball team each year, The Utah Jazz of course! Auri is even able to sit through and enjoy the games now. Taylor was able to take Jayden and Skyler to a few other games throughout the season as well. Go JAZZ!

Lights Galore

We were lucky to be able to meet up with Grandma & Grandpa Yates as well as Zach, Ashley, Bridger, Bailey, McCade, Aubrey, Mikelle, John and the cousins at Temple Square to look at all the amazing lights! We were able to watch a movie beforehand at the visitor center and enjoy the winter wonderland. A hot chocolate is always a must after enjoying the outdoors in December.

Blow, Blow, Blow your Boat!

Aysia and Dad were invited to the Daddy-Daughter date at the church. Their assignment was to build a boat that they could blow down  rain gutter. I think the pink boat suited her well. No first place prize, but the time spent together was priceless!!
