A long break from school and work is always something we look forward to during the Christmas and winter holidays. This year we hung out with cousins, making Gingerbread houses, went on a girls shopping spree to the mall, made some great food and even went sledding up American Fork Canyon with the Pace family even though there was very little snow this year and a lot of crowds. We still had a great time even though Skyler ripped Jayden's coat on an exposed stick. Grandma Woobie brought treats and hot chocolate to share which was an added bonus. We love our Christmas Vacations!

Christmas Vacation
Christmas 2020!
Due to Covid, we had a very mild Christmas this year as for get togethers and Christmas Parties. Grandma Woobie stopped by to share her gifts with us for a few minutes on Christmas Eve. We then headed over to Noelle and Janson's for Christmas Eve dinner, snacks and games. We played Reverse Charades which was comical especially since Grandpa guessed most of the Christmas words and songs. We shared some sparkling cider, made a toast to our Savior and finished a family puzzle that Mom bought for each Pikus family.
The kids decided to make an extra large fort to sleep in on Christmas Eve upstairs in Grandma and Grandpa's play room. It even made sure to have a kitchen in it!
The next morning, we woke up bright and early at 9:00, obviously the kids couldn't wait until they could open their gifts. We had the opportunity to talk to Jayden while we opened our gifts and he opened his which was a lot of fun. We are so blessed to have social media where we can see loved ones face to face that may be far away. The family got 2 Oculus gaming sets from Santa this year which were a big hit. We all drew names as well to buy a gift for each other. Skyler made sure to disguise his gift in a teddy bear wrapped gift, that was talent because inside was a gift card to Village Baker for Mom! After opening their gifts, the kids had one last one waiting for them. It was a puzzle of the world. After putting it together, they realized their last and final gift was a vacation to Costa Rica we would be taking in May. We were sad Jayden wouldn't be able to make it with us, but looking forward to sharing many more trips with him in the future!
We then hung out most of the day and had Christmas Dinner at home with Grandma and Grandpa. Noelle and Janson stopped by that evening to watch Grandma and Grandpa open their gifts, make some gingerbread houses and play a few more games. Although it was a different kind of Christmas due to Covid, it was relaxing and we were able to spend some quality time with loved ones. Merry Christmas!!
12 Days of Christmas
Each year we take the opportunity to choose a family to give the 12 Days of Christmas. This year we weren't sure if the Paris Family was in need, but knew we felt good about sharing some of the Christmas Spirit with them. On the last day of Christmas, Amy Paris left a very sweet note on her social media page thanking the "Secret Santa's" for their generosity. Sometimes we don't know who is in need whether it is financial, spiritual or mental. We were grateful to cheer this sweet family up with a few small gifts that obviously meant a lot to them.
