Christmas 2024

Christmas landed in the middle of the week this year so we enjoyed inviting G-Woobs over for a Christmas breakfast and Sunday service where the ward shares a program full of musical numbers. We have a very talented ward and enjoy the Christmas program every year. Dad loves not having any planned meetings and the time to sit down for an actual Sunday Breakfast!

We ended up at Noelle and Janson's for Christmas Eve with no set plans or food. Bring what you want. We had a blast! We brought appetizers and desserts to share and played charades, unwrap the gift (only 1 fork was ruined and only a few tears shed by Makai when he didn't get every prize). We also played scoop up the bow which was harder than it looks. We of course watched the churches video of the Nativity so we could celebrate the true Christmas Season. It was then back home to relax and watch a movie of our own before Santa arrived that night.

We have never started opening presents super early on Christmas, the kids usually wanted to sleep in. This Christmas was no different. We slowly got up, invited grandparents over, ate our traditional Christmas Breakfast (breakfast casserole and grits) and opened gifts. We lounged around, watched Christmas movies while putting puzzles together, had a ham and potato dinner and went to Mufasa the movie that night. It was a relaxing Christmas with all of us there which hasn't happened for 4 years since both boys left on their missions.

Christmas is for Parties!

It wouldn't feel like Christmas without our annual Christmas parties. It had been a few years since we had been able to attend the Robinson Barn Party. Ayisa invited her friend Duncan to join us. She was still recovering from her surgery so she had to take it easy. While we were there she noticed one of the Weber State dancers were at the party with the last name Fankhauser. Grandma Woobie introduced Aysia to her since Aysia has had a goal for trying out for the Weber team for years. Aysia was excited to find out she was related through cousins with her and her sister who was on UVU's dance team that same year. We loved the line dancing and of course the annual stew and rolls.

The Pikus party is always fun and chaotic. This year was no different. We had great food and played a few games with of course the white elephant game that is always one to look forward to.

Aysia missed her Drill team Christmas Party due to her surgery, but Auri made up for it at the Jr. Luxelle Christmas Sweater party with her team. She is excited and hopeful to be on the Westlake Drill team next year!

Christmas is in the AIR

Our ward hosts a yearly young men/ young women ice skating night. We are lucky that both mom and dad are involved in youth callings which includes Auri. So Tuesday nights have become our family night.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Mom found a local limo driver that offered Holliday limo rides with up to 10 people. It included hot chocolate and cookies while driving around looking at the best holiday lights in Saratoga Springs. Each girl invited a few friends on 2 different nights and enjoyed a night out on the town!
