Christmas is in the AIR!

For the past few years, mom has rented a Limo for the girls and their friends to take a ride with Christmas music and hot chocolate while driving around looking at all of the local Christmas lights. It's a good way to start off the Christmas Season!

Mom and Grandma decided to head up to the Convention Center to see the Festival of Trees. We were able to donate a tree (Willy Wonka Theme) after Isaac passed away a few years ago. We love to support the cause and hear all the amazing stories of people that have lived amazing lives and the people that help to save them,

Mom decided to hang outside lights on the house this year since dad had been too busy with work and his calling. She didn't want to climb on the roof so she did what she could on the porch and surrounding trees. To her surprise, she made the Saratoga Springs Facebook page on houses that were worth seeing in the neighborhood.

Mom bought tickets to the Millenial Christmas Choir concert. She invited Grandma and Jayden since dad and the rest of the family was busy. They went to dinner first and then visited the candy windows at City Creek and walked around Temple Square. It was a very festive night and the concert was AMAZING! Such incredible talent with a choir and symphony.

Mom made little Christmas potpourri gift bags for the neighbors this year. The smell of Christmas is the BEST!

Mom and Auri went to the YW's Christmas Party where they played games, ate food and had Hot Chocolate

Mom bought tickets for all the girls to watch the Odyssey dance company perform in the Christmas Spectacular Christmas performance. We usually go to Thriller each year but this was the first Christmas performance from them that we attended. Such a great Girls Night out!

It wouldn't feel like the Christmas season without our annual Sunday Christmas Photos! Grandma and Peter joined us for the Sunday Christmas Music Program and then went back to the house for pictures and lunch.

It's always a tradition to go to some sort of Christmas play or production as a family. This year we headed to the Christmas Carol played at the new Ruth Theater in Pleasant Grove. We went to a Mexican Dinner first and then enjoyed listening to the carolers before the play started. They always do a great job incorporating Christ into the Christmas Carol Play.

Auri was invited to a friend get together over the holidays at Beckham's house to play games and hangout. She has a great group of friends even though sometimes the sheer number getting together at one time can be overwhelming.

You are hereby called to Serve...

Aysia has always talked about serving a mission, but was a little uncertain on timing since she made her dream college dance team and had her application in for the Radiology Program at Weber State. She struggled with injury while on the team and wondered what God's plan for her was. Mom and Aysia were sitting on the couch one Sunday while she studied for her Anatomy class when it hit her. She said she got a confirmation that she needed to serve a mission. She had slowly been working on her papers and had everything complete except for the confirmation. So the minute she got it, she had Dad (who happened to be her Bishop at the time) submit them to the Stake President. She met with him that week and she had her call 8 days later! She received her call on a Monday but decided to wait until the following day when everyone could join her. The family all joked with her that she would be going to Texas because both of her Ex's were serving in Texas (Dallas- Isaac and Houston- Duncan). We even sang the Song "All my Ex's Live in Texas"! So she invited a few friends and family to join her in opening her call. Right when she announced where she would be assigned, she giggled and said she had been called to serve in the San Antonio, Texas Mission! Grandma Pikus won the prize, she was the only one that guessed Texas even though we all joked that was where she would go. She also realized one of her good friends, Izzy Ward was also called to the same mission, leaving within the next 3 months. She felt very strongly that is where she is supposed to serve. We can't wait to hear her adventures as a missionary spreading the light of Christ!

From Football Season... to Basketball Season!

Once the football halftime performances were over, Weber's Dance team didn't miss a beat and headed straight into the basketball season where they would cheer alongside the cheerleaders and perform some kind of halftime routine. At least weather would not longer be a factor!

How Do We Look?

Auri wanted to put a Jr Jazz team together although she had never played real basketball or even know the actual rules. Mom agreed and signed the team up being the general manager. She never thought she would get pure entertainment for her sacrifice. Kingston, Will and Preston were all the coaches so mom just sat back and watched the comedy unfold. The girls were so excited to get their Jr Jazz jerzey's, they decided to make sure they had a good fit for each game. They were ready! At least in style;)
