Don't Trip

Aysia took a little spill down the stairs when she was visiting her cousin Lacee. She has definitely been my accident prone child. She seems to get a bloody lip or tongue every week.

Reflections

It’s been a yearly tradition for the kids to enter the reflections contest. The theme was “Together we can…”. Jayden took pictures of objects to make the word Freedom. And Skyler made a 3-D image of our Soldiers fighting the war. They both did a great job and we are so proud of both of them.

SnowFire

The business SnowFire Hats is really taking off. We have seen the hats all over and are excited for the spirit they promote. We had the opportunity to sell at SwissDays in Midway and had a huge success. It was a VERY BUSY 2 days, but well worth it. We went up to the BYU vs. Aggies game which unfortunately turned out to be a very warm day. But we were die hards and decided to wear our hats anyway.

So Beautiful!

Aysia is getting so big and is definitely a girly girl. She loves getting her hair done (by mom of course), her toenails painted, dressing up, and dancing. She also seems to wear herself out, being the princess and all. It has been so much fun having a daughter after 2 boys, but I am definitely not looking forward to all of the mood swings which have already started! HELP!

RELAXATION

One of my favorite fall activities is going to the cabin on Brighton Ski Resort and taking advantage of a relaxing weekend. John, Mikelle, Ace and Linc came up for the long weekend as well. We hiked to Lake Mary, strolled around Silver Lake, took a ride through Guardsman’s pass, roasted hotdogs, fished and enjoyed the changing fall leaves. Taylor’s Mom and Aunt Jan always go out of their way to make each trip special. We frosted Halloween cookies, had a fishing pond for the kids and a puppet show for everyone.

John decided to wear his Halloween costume up. It was a real life looking Grizzly which is not uncommon around those areas. We decided to play a joke on Taylor’s Uncle Ron when he arrived the next day. Everyone was in on it and it worked out perfect. When Ron arrived, everyone was talking about the Grizzly they saw the day before up the mountain. John put on his costume and headed up the hill a few yards. Jan asked that everyone go out the back door for a family picture. Just as she was ready to take it, she yelled bear and grabbed all of the kids and ran inside the cabin. Ron and Taylor stayed outside and were admiring the bear as he was scratching his side along the tree. John did a great job mimicking a bear. Then Taylor said he wanted a closer look and headed up towards the bear. As Taylor was getting closer, Ron started yelling at him that he didn’t think it was a great idea. Taylor must have gotten a little close because the bear started running after Taylor on 2 legs and Ron finally realized it had to be a costume.

Girl's Day Out!

I have to admit, I finally got my girl’s day out! Yes, it was me, my niece (Lacee), Aysia, and my neighbor’s daughter Rachel (Age 4). We had a great time visiting, riding roller coasters, playing games and going out to a fabulous lunch at McDonalds. It’s nice to have a time every once in a while to get away and hand out with the gals. Great times!

Soccer Season

I really enjoy soccer season. It starts just as the summer is winding down and the cool air begins to arrive. Both Jayden and Skyler played this year. I was a little nervous about Skyler playing again due to our struggle with it two years ago. But a year off seemed to do the trick. He was no longer skipping at the end of the field, picking grass or getting caught in the net. Taylor was the assistant coach for Jayden's team and did a great job teaching the boys a few soccer skills. We were proud of both of them. It was a great excuse to get out and socialize with neighbors as well. Thanks for a great season boys!!!

Lagoon

We had to get Lagoon in before the end of the summer so we went the last week before the kids started school. Aysia broke her arm the day before, but they let her on all of the rides she was tall enough for and it didn’t slow her down. Skyler was about and inch too short for one of the rides so we spiked his hair up and he stood nice and tall. The nice Lady let him on even after she flattened his hair. We actually stayed over night in the campground so we were able to stay until closing. It was quite crowded during the day, but we definitely got our moneys worth on the last hour before closing. I would recommend staying 2 nights if you want to stay in the campground. We weren’t around much to enjoy it.

1st Broken Bone

I was just telling my neighbor the other day how lucky we have been not to have any broken bones or stitches with my kids and Lacee. The very next day, when I was at work, Taylor called to say when he was downstairs, Jayden came down and said Aysia hurt herself when she fell off of the couch. So she came up to see me at the hospital and sure enough she had a small buckle facture. Luckily with her age she heals quite quickly and will only need the splint on for 2 weeks. I am surprised that Aysia was the first to break a bone, but we were lucky it was fairly minor.
