Breakfast is served!
I woke up one Saturday morning only to find Aysia sitting at the breakfast table all ready for everyone to eat. She told me “breakfast is served”. It was so sweet and simple. She was so excited that she “made breakfast” all on her own.
6 Months and Counting...
Domesticating Jayden
Sledding... FINALLY!
We finally received enough snow for a sledding trip in the mountains, although it was still a little scarce. Jayden had been praying for days for snow so he could go sledding. He said he had lost all faith in the weather man because each storm they predicted fell apart. It has been a very dry winter for us. So once a small snow storm rolled in, we decided it was time to take a trip up for some sledding. Judi and Coda, her dog, joined us. We had a great time and were reminded of why we love living so close to the mountains.
Be My Valentine!
This has been a creative year for the kid’s imaginations during the holidays. They all wanted costumes that we couldn’t buy at the store and now they all wanted to make their own valentines. Aysia wanted valentine flowers, Skyler wanted to make his class all origami dinosaur heads and Jayden made paper airplanes for his entire class which they were all able to have a flying contest. Although they are time consuming, they bring out the kid’s imaginations.
Hall of Fame
Noelle was honored to be inducted into UVU’s hall of fame. She has had quite the story and deserves every award she receives. She has definitely had many ups and downs, but has come out successful due to her positive attitude and desire to succeed. We were able to enjoy an amazing dinner and front row seats to the basketball game. Noelle and her family were honored at the half time show. Congratulations Noelle – YOU DESERVE IT!!!
All about Aysia
Aysia is definitely a “girly” girl. She loves to dress up, dance, play with dolls, make dinner with mom and play house. She also has her emotional moments. The other day she came to me with big tears rolling down her cheeks. I asked her what was wrong and she said she didn’t know. I asked her if she was hurt or if someone made her feel bad. She said no. She finally told me she didn’t know why she was crying, but felt like she needed to. I gave her hugs and told her sometimes we just need to cry. I just hope this doesn’t become routine. She has also been telling me lately she doesn’t want me to be a Grandma. She has been asking me about people she has known that have passed away recently if they were Grandmas and Grandpas. My response was yes. I think she feels if I become a Grandma, I will end up leaving her. Her little mind has a hard time comprehending death right now. She asked if she could live with me when she is a mom (which by the way makes me a Grandma :). I told her of course. She can live with me as long as she likes. I tell her on a regular basis that she is my “favorite oldest daughter”.
