Off To Switzerland

My Mom and Dad and I were on our way to go cheer Noelle on at the World Championship races in St. Moritz, Switzerland. It was a long ordeal just to get there. Dad first realized he had forgotten his shoes!!! He wore his slippers out the door and didn’t realize it until half way to the airport. So we had to stop to buy a new pair of shoes at the mall. Then with the long delay of flights at the airport, over 2 hours, we missed our next flight to Switzerland. Thank goodness we found another route through England, but it set us back 6 hours. We almost missed Noelle’s 1st day of competition!

FEBRUARY!!!

Frozen Ice

Taylor took Jayden and Skyler ice fishing to Strawberry reservoir. They met Grandma Woobie, Eric, Niel (G-ma’s Boyfriend), and Jan up there. Taylor took Grandpa’s 4-wheeler to help get the gear to the correct spot on the ice covered lake. The boys had much more fun riding the sleds behind the 4-wheeler. It was a very slow day of fishing, but at least they had fun.

Down time with the Fella's

Taylor’s Dad built a Ranch up North for a little place to get away from daily life. It has been fun for the guys to have their time to relax. Jayden and Skyler enjoy going up to hang out as well. Taylor invited his friend, Scott (an avid hunter) up for the geese hunt. As you can see, they all have a decent aim with a gun.

Ride the Wave

Jayden, Skyler and Taylor decided to try their luck and riding the waves. They went to an indoor wave arena, Flow Rider, that they were able to surf and boogie board on continuously. They had a great time, especially since it was winter and they haven’t seen any waves for quite some time.

New to the Slopes of Snowboarding

Jayden decided to hang up his skis and try the sport of Snowboarding. It only lasted a couple runs, but it was enough to get him excited to keep practicing. His mom hopes he continues skiing, but I am sure his Dad will win in the end. Snowboarding will most likely win.

Patriotism

I was at work one night when I received a phone call from Jayden at 10 pm. He informed me that he needed to dress up as a patriot for a school project. They were going to reinact the laws that were passed during the civil war. Of course I am wondering what a patriot even looks like. So I bought a bunch of cotton balls on my way home, found the pirate hat we had from Halloween, rummaged through old boxes of sports clothes for baseball pants and… Walla!!! This is what you get! He was voted to be the judge of the board. Not bad for a few hours’ notice.

Healthy Eating of the Future

Jayden and his friend Carter decided to prepare a science fair project together. They wanted to do something they enjoy… Baking and Eating. Both boys are athletic and wanted to make baking foods healthier so they chose to substitute the oil with bananas, yogurt, applesauce, yams and green beans. They then had about 30 people taste test the results blindly and asked for the favorites. Surprisingly, Green beans was the number 1 favorite for both cake and cookies. Oil was one of the lower favorites. With the project being so simple, I told them not to get their hopes up for any awards. I was proved wrong. They took 1st at the school level, 1st at the district level and even 1st at the Regional level where it stopped. Great job boys!!!

Joys of Winter

Skiing and snowboarding has been a big part of our winter. We love the snow, not always the cold, but we bundle up and fly down the mountains of Utah. Jayden started skiing at age 5, Skyler and Aysia at age 3. We could have waited, but they picked it up fairly quickly.

Glamorous

Aysia begged and begged to get her ears pierced and I finally gave in. I thought I would wait until she was 8, but I said as long as she could care for them herself then she could get earrings. I told her it would hurt, which it did, but she was very brave and didn’t shed a tear. However, her face, as you can see, is not so pleasant after they were pierced.
