Cornbelly's
Cornbelly’s is another tradition we love around Halloween. We love finding our way through the maze, jumping on the big jumping pillows, dressing up and dancing in princess dresses, playing a mean game of volleyball, going on a little train ride, and of course roasting smores around the fire. Mom came with us as well as Lacee. We only lost her twice this time
Carving Time
It is always fun to see how creative the kids will be while carving pumpkins. They all turned out perfect. We always try to carve the Monday before Halloween for family night so they won’t wilt before the big day!
Costume Time
Halloween Costumes are a big deal around our house. Our kids usually think of crazy costumes you can’t find in the store. So Taylor and I are usually trying to be creative and come up with how to create what it is they want to be. This year, it was the dreaded candy machine. It took a while to make, but Skyler was very proud of it. He even made a dollar at school.
Raod to Sochi!
Noelle is back to racing again. She did a great job in New York and is now back through the rest of the month to compete. She has an automatic spot on the team, but she wants the practice. She took 1st in both competitions in Lake Placid and is back practicing on her home track in Park City. Mom and I met her at the airport, then drove up to Park City to watch her practice. NBC was there filming so it was fun to see all of the cameras and big props up there. So excited to cheer her on this season! Here comes Sochi!
Finding talents
Jayden and Skyler were able to compete in their school track meet against the Ranches Academy. Both did an incredible job and took 1st place for their age groups. It was perfect racing weather. I was able to help volunteer as well guiding the kids along the course. I am really impressed with my kid’s school. They have several extracurricular activities the kids can participate in.
Believe, Dream, Inspire
Jayden, Skyler and Aysia all decided to participate in the reflections contest this year. Jayden and Skyler composed music on the piano and Aysia turned in a photography project. She spelled out dance with her own dance moves. She photo timed all of the pictures, then ran around a sheet with a spotlight. They all did an amazing job. They all got first and are moving onto the district level!
Cabin Fever
Taylor was invited with the kids up to the cabin at Brighton Ski resort while I stayed behind so that Jayden could attend his Powwow. The kids love going up there especially since Grandma Woobie and Aunt Jan always have projects and fun games for the kids to play. Autumn is one of my favorite times to stay at the cabin due to the changing colors. I was bummed I missed it, but there is always next year!
15 years and counting!
For our 15 year Anniversary, Taylor and I decided to plan a Stay-cation! It was perfect. We went to a movie, enjoyed lunch with Grammy and Grandpa, went to the home show, shopping in Park City and enjoyed and amazing dinner at the Stein Erikson Lodge at Deer Valley. What a great 15 years it has been. Lots of great memories. Looking forward to many more to come!
The Joys of Fall
We have 3 very large aspen trees that provide much needed shade in the summer, but in the fall, watch out!! Our lawn is covered in leaves. So the kids love raking up the leaves and then jumping in them. They even raked the neighbor’s yard across the street and dragged the leaves into our yard. Aren’t they nice kids???
The Old Gang back together
Taylor hasn’t had a get together with his high school buddies for a very long time so he decided to invite Brian S., Danny, Sam, Shane & Brian R. up to his Dad’s cabin for a couple of nights. They hung out, talked about old times, went hunting and had a great time.
