A turkeys disguise

Aysia's class was assigned to disguise a Turkey so it wouldn't get eaten for Thanksgiving and to come up with a creative story about their turkeys. Aysia's turkey was a cute cowgirl. The turkey was walking along the road by a barn when a farmer tried to grab her. She ran from him, into the farmhouse, up the stairs and into the bedroom where she was able to dress up as a cowgirl. The farmer raced in and asked the "little cowgirl" if she had seen the turkey to which she replied she had seen her, but she must have disappeared. He thought she looked like a funny looking cowgirl and wondered what the gobbler was. She explained it was part of her neckerchief and wished him a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm so glad that Aysia's turkey won't end up on a table this Thanksgiving dinner!

Halloween Halloween 2014

I know I have said it over and over in the past, but one of my favorite holidays is Halloween. I was able to help out with Skyler's Halloween party as the kids felt "slimy body parts" hidden in a box. Some of them figured out that the heart was a peeled tomato, the toe was a pickle and the tongue was a peeled mango. I was then able to go watch the school parade. We went home and made soup in a big pumpkin for dinner and invited Noelle, Janson, the kids, Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner. We quickly ate and the kids rushed out the door for some trick-or-treating. Aysia went with Lacee to their house and had a sleepover. This was Jayden's first year he didn't go trick-or-treating so he decided to have a party. Skyler went trick-or-treating with 2 of his friends and came back to join Jayden with his party. Another little boy came to our house to go trick-or-treating and found out there was a party with boys in our backyard and asked if he could join them. I said sure, just ask your Dad who was waiting for him at the end of the driveway. His Dad headed on back as well. They came in for drinks and snacks and played night games most of the night. Thank goodness the weather was warm for being the end of October. The 12 boys then came in for a movie and fooseball and air-hockey tournaments. They sounded like they were having a great time. I asked Jayden on a scale of 1-10, what would he rate his party. He said a 12! Success!!! Happy Halloween!!!!

1st Place in Soccer Division

Jayden's soccer team really stepped up this year and was undefeated for the season. Taylor and Toby did a great job coaching as well. Jayden played midfield, which isn't his favorite due to all of the running, but he does a great job at it. He was the third highest scorer in the division. It has been fun to see the team grow together since their first game just over a year ago.

Erasure

My friend Shonnie and I decided to buy tickets to the upcoming Erasure concert. They were a good old 80's band. We contemplated dressing up in the 80's style, but decided not to at the last minute. It was a good thing because we definitely would have stood out in the crowd. We went to eat at a local Mexican Restaurant before the concert and then headed over to the Capital Theater. We felt quite young in the older crowd. We knew about half of the songs and loved watching some of the old grandpas dancing the floor. It was a great concert to attend, and a little more mellow than many of the younger concerts I have been to.

Trunk-or-Treat

Our neighborhood hosted a Trunk-or-Treat at our church. It was also a Chili cook-off. So Taylor and I whipped up our family-favorite chili recipe, with fresh tomatoes of course, and headed on down in our good old trusty golf cart. Everyone decorated their trunks so cute. One family even made a cute diner out of theirs and Jen even made hamburgers and french fries along with shakes for their treat! Because we were in the process of selling our home, we went simple and hung a spider with its web. The kids had a great time hanging out with their friends. It was a great turn out as well!

Slimy, gooey and fun to do!

What would Halloween be without carved pumpkins. Taylor was out on business, so the kids and I decided to carve away. They did a great job. Auri was able to draw her own face on the pumpkin and I carved it out. Aysia decided to make Frankenstein and the boys just cut out good old jack-o-lantern faces. We always light them the night we carve them to see them come to life.

Utah Sports Hall of Fame

Noelle was honored to be inducted into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame. She, along with 3 other athletes, were given the award. All were amazing with incredible stories. All gave speeches after their award was given and all of them gave tribute to their families. It was a great evening and an honor to be there with Noelle as she received her great reward. Congrats Noelle!

RANDOM PICTURES OCTOBER

Skyer's Volcano and surfing project, hanging out at Noelle's, going to trick-or-treat at the local business fair, and a whole lot of Randomness.
