Team United

One of the best parts of Aysia's dance team is the unity. The kids all get along so well and of course the boy, Jaxon, is loving it! (Expo Center)

Payton Temple open house

We had the opportunity to attend the Payson Temple open house. Because Rob helped build it, he was able to get us tickets to view the temple before it was open to the public. It was such a beautiful place. The kids loved being able to walk through it. It was a perfect day!

Hope of America

The Alpine School District always has the 5th grade perform the Hope of America at the Marriott Center at BYU. Skyler worked hard to learn the songs along with the actions. He did a great job.

Day 9 - Going Home

We disembarked the cruise and headed to the airport. Unfortunately, Grandma Pikus had a tooth abscess, but lucky for us we have a Doctor in the family. Jared gave her some antibiotics before our flights. We were all exhausted, but had a great trip!  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Pikus!!!

Day 8 - Free Day

For the last full day on the cruise, we decided to cram it all in. Skyler took part in a talent competition where he resolved his rubix cubes. Unfortunately, when the cruise aid scrambled it up, she was a little forceful and she actually broke it. Skyler put it back together and was able to resolve it quickly. He kept his cool, did a great job and earned a medal. The kids after the show wanted to talk to Skyler and watch him solve it again. It was a proud Mama moment. We also did some ice skating and hung out by the pool. The guys all decided to give the dodge ball tournament a try. They took 3rd place! It was fun to watch and cheer them on. Riley, Damond’s son, was the last one standing and aloud them to medal! Great job team. We ended the day at the Broadway show. Then back to the cabins to pack up for the early morning.

Day 7 – Cozumel, Mexico

This was our last excursion. We were ready to enjoy the sun. Kevin, Damond and Shauna’s families all joined us on a catamaran excursion to go snorkeling. Before our excursion began, Taylor and I took the kids into town where we did a little shopping and got some food at a local grocery store. We were able to try some pastries and food from the country. Some we liked and others we didn’t care for. It was then off to the beach for some snorkeling. The kids really enjoyed it including Auri, however, we got a little cold on the second pass so Auri decided to stay on the boat with Kyler on our next trip. Kyler and Chase were severely sunburned when they fell asleep on the deck of the boat in the hot sun. Both of their legs were blistered. So the remainder of the cruise was a little rough for them. Kyler wasn’t able to snorkel because it hurt his ankles and feet too much. Kassidi ended up getting sick on the cruise with the Norovirus. So unfortunately, she was sick for the remainder of the cruise cooped up in her room. We felt bad for the Smoot family, but luckily the bad luck was near the end of the cruise rather than the beginning.
