While the cat's away, the mice will PLAY!

We have had many sleep overs with Lacee and Traycen lately due to Noelle's travel schedule. They are such fun kiddos, they might as well be part of our family. It was a school night and Aysia and Lacee begged us to sleep in the same room. I usually say no on a school night, but was feeling exceptionally nice that night and said as long as they were in bed by 9:00. So in bed they went. Of course, I could hear the giggles and by 9:30 I told them I would have to separate them if I heard another noise. Sure enough by 9:45, I told them to separate... Lacee downstairs, Aysia upstairs. I heard crying for 30 minutes and finally relented. I told them they would get one more chance. So together they went into bed. I was watching the news in my room and would mute it occasionally to listen for any giggles. I was proud of myself when I didn't hear them. I was going to check on them after I finished my last load of laundry, but I didn't have to because 30 minutes later I heard the front door slam and 2 crying girls. ???? I ran out and both girls were frozen, and Lacee's toe was bleeding. They decided they wanted to go to Lacee's house at 10:30 at night!!! They apparently made it half way there (about 1/2 a mile) and then got lost. They wandered around and finally found their way back. What a bad mother I am! I was shocked and glad I didn't check on them sooner, otherwise I would have called the police department thinking they were abducted. I didn't think they would have ever done something like this. I have always told Aysia that monsters aren't real, but I decided to tell her the truth. Monsters are REAL and come out only at night when girls are all alone (or with their cousin)! I hope this isn't a sign of what is to come!

Indoor Fun

Jayden decided he wanted to play soccer in the winter so we signed him up for a recreational indoor league. After playing on competitive teams, it was nice for a low key season indoor. He really has come a long way and his foot skills have really improved. He could play all year long if it was his choice. Just waiting for spring soccer to start now!

X-Country Skiing

Taylor is the Varsity Scout leader for our ward and takes it seriously. He is incredible with the boys and they have attached to him as their leader. They are always sad when they move on. He rented cross country skis for all of the boys and went up American Fork Canyon for a little x-country trail run. His mom joined them since she knows the area and loves skiing. It was a bit cold, but the boys had a great time... even those that had not been skiing before.

I do like Green eggs and Ham!

I love holidays! I love making them a little extra special and making family traditions become memories. I have made a tradition to make a green breakfast every St. Patrick's day. The kids look forward to it and it is one day they will eat any and all things green :)

Show your Moves

Aysia has always loved dance and gymnastics. The local high school had a program for the young girls to practice and dance in a dance concert they were putting on for the community. She wanted her best friend, Lacee, to join her. So they both practiced their little hearts out and did an amazing job. They loved watching the other girls dance as well. But the best part was going to the local ice-cream shop for dessert after with Grandma and Grandpa and Lacee's family.

Good Weather, Good Friends, Good Skiing..

We have some friends that are avid skiiers along with their kids that are around our kids ages. We were able to go skiing a few times with them this year. What more could you ask for in a day of skiing. One day of skiing, Taylor and my friends, Bart and Shonnie, decided we would put our younger kids (Aysia) in ski lessons and take advantage of a day of skiing. It was a great day and the kids had a blast. It was fun to spy on them every once in a while to see their progress. We lucked out on the weather and had a great Adult day of skiing.

Runway Time

One of the best moments of raising little girls is their dancing and dress up shows they perform for whomever will watch. Both Aysia and Auri love to put on music (Pleas don't stop the music is their favorite), dress up and let loose. They giggle, squeal, laugh and dance. It is so much fun to join them. Who knew little girls could be so entertaining and amazing. Love you Aysia and Auri!!!

Labor of Love

Taylor experienced what I have done 4 times… Gave birth. Although his was much smaller, about 8 lbs lighter and 19 inches shorter, I think his was much more painful. It was his first kidney stone, and unfortunately he passed one more from the other kidney 6 weeks later. Poor guy!

Cookie Lovin' Family

The kids love making, baking and eating cookies. It is sometimes a very long process when they want to help, but well worth it. They decided they wanted to make their names out of the cookies. Great Job Kiddos!

Best Buds

Aysia loves her little cousin Lacee. They are best friends. They love getting dressed up together, making huts, coloring, playing house, playing with dolls and of course giggling. Aysia loves making her random pictures and cards. So fun to have 2 cousins the same age.
