While the cat's away, the mice will PLAY!
We have had many sleep overs with Lacee and Traycen lately due to Noelle's travel schedule. They are such fun kiddos, they might as well be part of our family. It was a school night and Aysia and Lacee begged us to sleep in the same room. I usually say no on a school night, but was feeling exceptionally nice that night and said as long as they were in bed by 9:00. So in bed they went. Of course, I could hear the giggles and by 9:30 I told them I would have to separate them if I heard another noise. Sure enough by 9:45, I told them to separate... Lacee downstairs, Aysia upstairs. I heard crying for 30 minutes and finally relented. I told them they would get one more chance. So together they went into bed. I was watching the news in my room and would mute it occasionally to listen for any giggles. I was proud of myself when I didn't hear them. I was going to check on them after I finished my last load of laundry, but I didn't have to because 30 minutes later I heard the front door slam and 2 crying girls. ???? I ran out and both girls were frozen, and Lacee's toe was bleeding. They decided they wanted to go to Lacee's house at 10:30 at night!!! They apparently made it half way there (about 1/2 a mile) and then got lost. They wandered around and finally found their way back. What a bad mother I am! I was shocked and glad I didn't check on them sooner, otherwise I would have called the police department thinking they were abducted. I didn't think they would have ever done something like this. I have always told Aysia that monsters aren't real, but I decided to tell her the truth. Monsters are REAL and come out only at night when girls are all alone (or with their cousin)! I hope this isn't a sign of what is to come!
