After traveling around the world, I have to admit, my favorite place on earth (so far) is only 5 hours away. Beautiful Lake Powell. Maybe it is the slow pace, no cellphone service, quietness, afternoon thunderstorms, amazing cliffs, great waterskiing and camping under the stars. Whatever it is, it makes me and my family very HAPPY! We invited my Dad and his brother Jerry to join us. It was Jerry’s first time to visit Lake Powell. Unfortunately he was only able to spend one night down there. It was barely enough time to set up camp and fish for a couple of hours. We still had a great time. We did have one extreme wind and rainstorm blow through after dark. So we all stayed in the tents and tried to keep it from collapsing on us. We were successful and were able to get some good sleep. The boys ended up having a successful fishing trip as well. We were able to cook it up over the fire with some seasonings. It was amazing. Nothing like fresh fish. MMMM. The kids loved it!
