Although we have had the opportunity to travel to many areas around the world, one of our favorite places to visit is still here in Utah, Lake Powell. Our friends, the Wrights, have been so generous in letting us join them in one of their 2 weeks they have their houseboat timeshare. Jayden’s friend Sam joined us who had never been to Lake Powell. The area that we choose to dock the boat is the most important. We had luck going up Halls Bay before, so we did it again. We found an amazing spot hat we had our own swimming cove, cliff jumping, hiking and sandy beach. It was perfect. The kids were able to fish off the back of the boat for the small Blue gills and Jayden even caught a large Cat Fish.
We had some very friendly neighbors that let us use their giant slip and slide. Their kids came over daily to have water fights and dance with glow sticks. We had water balloons luckily which helped in our water fight efforts. They even offered us to go over for some drinks, however, we graciously declined due to Auri’s birthday party we were just starting.
Auri told us that all she wanted for her birthday was to go to Lake Powell. We were in luck, because that was the week that Shonnie and Bart invited us to join them on their Houseboat. We brought tinker bell cupcakes and had a little party filled with bowling down the hallway and games. I think she had an amazing birthday with some great friends.
We decided to try the hike once again that we loved the year before, however with the water levels changing, it made it a little difficult to get to the hike again, however it was well worth it. We found a waterfall with a water hole that we could cliff jump into. We loved it. We lucked out with the weather and were able to sleep under the stars. We loved counting the shooting stars. The kids loved playing on the beach, floating on tubes and rafts and just hanging out. Another great trip to be placed in our memory books! Thank you Wright Family!!
