Costa Rica

Taylor and I had planned to go to Costa Rica for our getaway this year, however, because Noelle and Janson moved there, Taylor was nice enough to let me go alone, spend some time with them and help out. My flight arrived around 8pm, after the kids had gone to bed. Noelle picked me up and took me to their cute casita. We talked for a while and I went to bed. I was awakened by poor Traycen throwing up in the middle of the night. So I helped clean him up and went back to bed. Noelle and Janson have a great night system. Janson sleeps from 8pm-3am and Noelle from 3am-8am. At least they get 5 straight hours of sleep with the twins. Janson is very busy with school and is gone most of the day. He is enjoying it and doing well.

 Traycen and Lacee's School

The first day, Noelle was able to get many of her errands done. We went into San Jose and I was able to help her get the twins to their doctors appointments, Traycen x-rays, getting passports, picking up a car title, etc. She felt good with all that we were able to accomplish.

The next day, we found a beehive starting to form in her little laundry room, so unfortunately we were not able to do laundry until the campus workers came to get rid of them. So her laundry started to pile up. We decided to take a hike to some waterfalls with the kids. Everyone loves the babies there, especially the twins. We packed a lunch and hung out for a while. We then went to a small town that had a cute gift shop. They are well known for making oxcarts and painting them by hand. They have one of the largest in the world on display outside the shop.

The next day was La Feria. We were able to go take a trip to the large market where hundreds of fruit and vegetable vendors sell their products in a market. We weren’t able to stay long because Makai got hungry and we needed to get back to the car for his bottle.  That night Noelle and Janson were able to go to the temple together, which they had not had the opportunity to do yet. I was able to stay at home with the kids and play games with them. We started watching the Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus. That night the service guys from the campus came to get rid of the bees. They definitively do things a little different there. They sprayed them with gasoline. Luckily I ran and closed the laundry room door before any of the bees swarmed into the house. I am glad Noelle and Janson were able to get out together.

 Payton & Makai

On Saturday, we all headed to La Paz. We wanted to see the volcano, but it was too cloudy once we got up there. It was a very rainy day, and we debated whether to go to La Paz or not. We finally agreed to at least eat a great buffet lunch there and see if the storm would slow down. We were in luck, after an amazing lunch, the rain stopped and we were able to make our way to see the wildlife. We were able to hold a toucan and butterflies. We loved seeing the monkeys and the big cats. The waterfalls were incredible, but were brown due to the recent rainfall. It was a great place to visit. Then it was back home to watch the University of Utah football game.

On Sunday, we went to church (I didn’t understand much) and then went back home where I let Noelle and Janson take a 4 hour nap while the kids and I hung out with some of the neighbors.

Monday was “get things done around the house” day. Noelle and I were able to clean her whole house and then celebrated with a great Costa Rican dinner that night! We had such a great time together. Although I didn’t make it to any amazing beaches, I loved every minute of it and spending time with Noelle and her adorable family!
