OLYMPIC ADVENTURE DAY 1 : Saturday, February 8
Mom, Dad and Amanda were so excited and anxious to head to Moscow to watch Noelle compete. We left in plenty of time in case we had any delays in getting there. We arrived at the Salt Lake airport 3 hours prior to departure. Luckily our plane was on time. We ran into Jared Robinson (Taylor’s cousin) at the airport and chatted for a while. Then off to LA. While unboarding, we ran into our old neighbors, the Spackman’s who we visited with for a few minutes. We arranged to meet Pat there who was so sweet and brought us lunch during our layover. We visited with her for a while then boarded for the next 9 hour flight. The only dilemma that we encountered in our layovers, was the security. We were stripped of taking any makeup, including powders that we were unaware of. Luckily, I had an eyeliner and a small baggy of concealer they didn’t catch. Mom was most disappointed in her lipstick being taken. She also wasn’t too excited about her entire bag’s contents being shown to the public, but everyone was going through the same process. At least it made us feel safe. We had a very short layover in Moscow that made us nervous especially with prior problems with traveling internationally. However, the Russians surprised us and were well prepared for their visitors. We were escorted from our incoming flight to our connecting flight by airport employees. It was a very smooth transition. While we waited for our next flight we ran into Billy Bush (Entertainment broadcaster) who was on his way over to cover the Olympic athletes. We finally arrived on Sunday evening and found the Russian people to be very considerate and helpful.
Noelle sent this to us and wanted us to guess which model was her??? Getting ready for the big day!
