OLYMPIC ADVENTURE DAY 4: Tuesday, February 11th

Before arriving in Russia, we were under the assumption that we would be staying at our apartment most of the time due to the threats that were made against the games. However, it was very different than we ever would have imagined. The people were incredible. We felt very safe. While Noelle stayed back to rest, recover and watch videos of the track, we decided to take the free transportation down to the City, Adler (Sochi). We were in the Olympic village which was amazing. Traycen was running and fell on the sidewalk when 3 Russian men ran to his aide. They were so sweet. We made our way to the USA house which was a great atmosphere to be in. We had great food and met a few of the future Olympic hopefuls. We then went to the P&G house, continuing to accumulate credentials along the way. It wasn’t as big and amazing as it was in Vancouver; however, they were very accommodating and fed us great food. We were all interviewed by NBC about Noelle and her journey to get to where she is now. We then took a long train ride back to the airport to pick up Jared and Jodi who stayed in St. Petersburg for a couple of nights. We finally made it back to the apartment and Noelle surprised us with a Russian dinner she made. We also surprised Jared and Jodi. They didn’t know she would be staying with us. They were excited to see her, but sad about the situation she was in with her concussion. It was fun to be all together and have a great meal.
