OLYMPIC ADVENTURE DAY 6: Thursday, February 13th

RACE DAY!!
It was an early morning for everyone. The excitement and nervousness made it hard to get a good night sleep. When we walked out of our apartment, the cute Bobsled girls across the hall decorated the hallway for Noelle. They were so sweet. We had a driver take us up to Krasnaya Polyana where the event was taking place. Several people from NBC saved our seats in the front row at the end of the track.
Noelle was to race first. We were all so nervous. She ended up with the track record! However, she shook her head and said she was still having difficulty seeing the track. After all of the other competitors completed the first heat, Noelle was positioned in #3. We thought that was great considering her vision problems. She said she blacked out around curve 5 for a few seconds. Later, we found out that she actually fell asleep between her 2 runs and a coach had to awake her to tell her she was up after the next 4 athletes. She had an amazing 2nd run and bumped her up to 2nd place. After she watched the video of her sliding, she couldn’t believe she was in 2nd place. She said she should have been in 10th with all of the mistakes. We knew Heavely Father was guiding her down the track.
We got back to the apartment, exhausted and all took naps. We cooked dinner and had a lazy night playing games and visiting. We continued to pray that Noelle’s vision would return.
