Dancing Beyond High School

Aysia has been so grateful to extend her dancing career past high school and experience it at a college level. She has made several new friends and had experiences she wouldn't be able to enjoy without being on the team. She had several supporters come watch her perform. Peter, Aysia's best friend was one of them. Peter had hopes of trying out for Weber as well but an ankle injury her Senior year ended any future dance plans. She has been a great support to Aysia although her dance dreams came to an end.

Grandma Dayna and Grandpa Todd wanted to watch Aysia perform at a football game. Unfortunately they picked the rainiest day! They delayed the game for 2 hours due to lightning so mom and dad and Grandma and Grandpa went to dinner and went back to watch her perform as they sat under umbrellas and ponchos. She is grateful for all the support she has been given!

Weber was able to perform at the Miss Drill competition this year along with other colleges around the state. They performed a hip hop routine. It was fun for her to see many of her old teammates including Tia as well as the All-Famous Nolan Richter! He was such a big part of Aysia and Auri improving their dance skills.

Auri and Mom went to watch a few of the Luxelle's perform at the Miss Drill competition. Kaiya did an amazing job and Auri was one of her biggest cheerleaders there.

Weber State Dance Team not only cheers and performs at football games, but volleyball and basketball games as well. Mom made it to every game she performed at knowing this time wouldn't last forever. She also helped serve lunches on their long Dance Routine weeks. She served Baked Potato soup and rolls as well as BBQ pork sandwiches and pasta salad.

Mom got a phone call from Aysia in October that she re-injured her bad ankle doing a trick. Mom ran up to her apartment that night to give her a hug and bring her a little treat. She has had such a rough year with injuries and keeps getting setbacks. After another MRI, she was told that her fracture wasn't healed and she still had a grade 3 sprain. However, after about 2 weeks it started feeling better so she decided to keep moving forward as long as the pain didn't get too bad.
