This was our first excursion and we were ready for it. Our
particular group consisted of Noelle and Janson’s family, Mom and Dad, Jared
and Jodi’s family and ourselves. We were given a brief tour of the island
Roatan. We were able to do a little shopping from little tents off the side of
the street. The girls found necklaces and cute wallets. We then went zip lining
which was an incredible experience. Noelle stayed back with Auri and Traycen
since they were a little too young and she, of course being pregnant, didn’t
want to chance anything. So the rest of us had a great time and a few of us
brave family members hung upside down during our descents. Mom and Dad really
enjoyed it as well.
It was then onto the beach where we enjoyed a private beach.
The sand was white and the water bright blue. Because it was in an inlet, there
weren’t many fish to look at, however, the kids found some paddle boats that
they used and raced around on. Taylor, of course, was found getting a massage
under one of the cabanas. It was a perfect beach day. We then headed to the
iguana farm. It was really incredible. They let the iguanas run loose and we
were able to feed, touch, and even hold them. They were fairly tame. We then
went out to the dock and were able to feed several very large fish. It was then
time to head back to the boat. It was a great first excursion.
We then freshened up and headed down to the dining room for
dinner. The kids all decided to go to the kids program and we went to an
acapella show that night in the theater. We also found a quiet spot where
Taylor, Jared, Shauna and I played cards (5 Crowns).
