Micromanagers

This year Skyler was invited to join a Lego competition team. I don’t think he realized what he was in for when he first committed, but he absolutely loved it and said he would like to do it again next year.  They had to come up with a teaching solution for kids their age to learn about something and put it into action. So they came up with the Kid90X videos that they posted on YouTube. It was all about physical health, mental health and spiritual health. They all did a great job on the project. Then they were able to make and program a robot and Lego set to complete certain tasks for points. They had to present their project and then compete in the robotics portion.

They didn’t have high expectations going into the competition due to them being a 1st year team. But they surprised themselves, took third place and made it to the State level. They competed well there and although they didn’t make it to Nationals, they were awarded the Best Project! Great job boys!!

Since all of the boys didn't get their own trophy (it was a team trophy), we held our own awards night at our house. Mike helped order trophies for all of the boys and we let them put them together.
