Isaac Tanner Pikus
October 26, 2015 - July 12, 2017
Our sweet little Isaac
Tanner Pikus, of 20 months, suddenly passed away to return to his loving
Heavenly Father, Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in Grangeville, Idaho.
Isaac was born Oct. 26, 2015 in Lewiston, Idaho to parents Jared and Jodi Heslington Pikus. Our pudgy little boy loved music and dancing. He loved baby dolls and just began to talk in whole sentences. His favorite game was being chased by his brothers and sisters. He was quite a climber.
Isaac is survived by his parents; his brothers, Hyrum, Ammon and Lincoln; sisters, Carlee, Kaylee and Jesee; his grandparents, Gary and Gwen Heslington and Lee and Patricia Pikus; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Pikus family would like to share our love and gratitude for all friends, family and medical staff who have supported us at this time of loss. We know that through our Savior Jesus Christ, we will see our sweet little Isaac again.
A viewing was held Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grangeville. Funeral service followed. Dedication of the grave will take place at Prairie View Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville. Send condolences to the family to Blackmerfuneralhome.com.
On July 12, 2017 we got a call that everyone dreads. Jared called to say that Isaac had drowned in a river just a few hours ago. The family was enjoying some time with a few other families at a local river in Idaho. Isaac was standing between Jared and Jodi in very shallow water throwing rocks. Jared was concerned with the older girls taking a while floating down the river and Jodi was worried about the Lincoln and followed him as he headed to the deeper water. Both of them thought he was with the other. Jodi turned back and noticed Isaac was not around. They frantically looked for him I'm sure for what seemed like hours. Jodi climbed up a few rocks and saw something sticking out of the water by a rock. Jared raced down and grabbed him. He pulled him out and Jodi and Jared started CPR. Their 15 year old neighbor rushed them down the mountain while they gave CPR in the back of the SUV. There was no cell phone coverage. They raced him to the ER where Jared knew many of the Doctors. They worked on him for quite some time and had life flight ready. However, the Doctor approached Jared and said he would know the situation and said that it would have to be Jared and Jodi's call. They both went into the room next door and prayed together and had a confirmation to let him go. The most difficult decision for any parent. We all traveled up to Idaho as quickly as possible. We helped with a few of the funeral arrangements and tried to comfort the sweet Pikus family as best as we knew how. We know that each of us will be faced with very difficult circumstances in this life and we will all need to lean on Jared and Jodi in those times. We are grateful to know of our loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ and the Plan of Happiness that we have been given. I can't imagine life without this knowledge. Isaac will be missed, but never forgotten. Until we meet again... We love you Isaac!
Reminiscing about Isaac and the memories we had of our little "Twinkie"
Isaac loved baby dolls, his yellow rain boots, candy, twinkies, sitting in drawers and his pink sippy cup.
