A total solar eclipse is a rare thing and we were only 200 miles south of where it was complete. We opted out of traveling to see it although many friends and neighbors took the trip. I was happy we didn't take the journey when I heard it took about 10 hours to get home from all the traffic. As for us, we witnessed a 97% eclipse which was amazing. However, it was incredible how light it still was with only 3% if the suns rays shining through. We did notice a temperature drop of about 10 degree though. It was a great excuse to wear cool glasses.
