The Wright family has invited us to travel to Lake Powell with them every year for the last few years. It is a trip we look forward to every year at one of our favorite places in the world. We already got a later start due to attending church on the day we left, then we noticed a flat tire on the boat trailer. Luckily Taylor is a handyman and had it quickly changed. We were on our way!
This is Auri's 2nd home on earth if she could choose. She asks every year if she can go to Lake Powell for her birthday. She got a piece of her own little Heaven this year.
Jayden was able to invite a friend to join us. He invited Tyler to come. He fit right in with the rest of the kids.
Morgan is always so sweet to Auri. She always includes her in games and takes her for hikes.
We found a spot to camp in Hall's Bay which has been our favorite over the past 3 years. The kids always look forward to the fishing. It looks like Tyler loved it more than some!
The Wright's brought a knee board this year, which Jayden really enjoyed and found it easy to ride.
Kings and Queens of the tube. The kids constantly played the game boys vs girls dominating the tube. I'm not exactly sure who won, but it provided hours of entertainment for both kids and parents alike.
Lizzard hunting!
We always plan a few activities each trip. This year was Timmy, last year was Annie. Luckily most had already participated and were excited to see Tyler and Lauren's friend have the opportunity to meet him this year.
Our favorite hike and water hole was a little drier this year than normal. It was a dry spring and we were a little earlier in the summer than we normally go. The kids still had a great time and loved catching all of the tadpoles in the water.
Although our boat is an older boat, we have had very good luck with it every year, until this trip. It finally bit the dust. We were on our way back from getting ice-cream from Halls crossing, when our propeller just stopped. The Wrights didn't realize we were in trouble, so they passed by and headed back to camp. We sat in the water with our oars as the wind picked up and drifted us towards some rocks we had to keep pushing off from. We finally made it around the bend into the large bullfrog channel. We finally realized the Wright's weren't coming back so we flagged down another boat who was able to drive me back to camp. Bart was able to grab his boat and tow us back to our trailer at Bullfrog. Luckily we only had one day left of our trip. It was still a success!
