The Magical World with just Mom and Son

DAY 1 (EPCOT CENTER)

Skyler was bummed that Aysia got to go to Costa Rica for Lacee's baptism in January and Jayden went with Taylor to Alaska for a fishing trip over the summer, so I asked Skyler if he could go anywhere, where would he like to go... His response was Disney World! So for Christmas I surprised him with a trip with his Mom to Sunny Florida!

We took a Red Eye flight straight to Orlando. Leaving the 20 degree weather for the 80's was very welcoming. Skyler was able to get a few hours of sleep, a little more than myself.

Our first stop of the trip was Epcot Center. Although I have been here before, it was so magical watching Skyler see everything for the first time. There are so many hands on activities including building and riding on your own rollercoaster ride.

Our favorite ride was "Test Track". We got to design our own vehicle and then give it a test drive that felt like we were on a race track!

Skyler and I loved visiting all of the mini countries! We started by sampling a bit a food from each, but after the Gelato in Italy, we couldn't eat any more.

Skyler looks like he would fit right in if he were to visit the Orient!
Mexico was such a fun place to visit. We loved the cute boat ride we were able to take through the history of the country. I think Skyler needs a smaller hat.

It was a perfect day with great company. The lines were short and we were able to see all that we wanted to. We went back to the Hotel and fell asleep by 8pm. We wanted to be ready for...

DAY 2 (DISNEY WORLD)

 Little Mermaid Ride

We asked a random guy to take our picture with the castle in the background, he ended up placing his Mickey hat on Skyler for the picture.

One of the longest lines (25 minute wait) of all the rides was "It's a Small World". It is one of my favorite though and well worth the wait.

Our favorite rides of the day were Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. We were lucky to ride each a few times!

Skyler had to have a picture with Whinnie the Pooh to send to Taylor. We decided we didn't want to stand in the 15 minute line so we got the next best thing... A picture with him 10 feet away!

We started our Disney World Adventure right when it opened and ran our little feet off. We were able to ride a few rides 2-3 times due to the short lines. Skyler and I were running until all the rides had closed. We watched the fireworks on our way out. The weather and crowds couldn't have been more perfect! Once again, we went back to the hotel exhausted and crashed. We wanted to be ready for the next day!

DAY 3 (UNIVERSAL STUDIOS)

When we bought our tickets for Universal Studios, the cute clerk mentioned we might want to purchase the front of the line passes because it was supposed to be a very crowded day. I didn't want to spend the money and thought I would take the risk and hope for short lines. Sure enough, no lines!

We quickly raced to the back of the park where the new Harry Potter ride had just opened, concerned that the line would be long lines. To our surprise, we walked right onto the ride. We loved it so much we decided to go another 3 times! It was our favorite of the day.

I couldn't resist not getting a picture with Jimmy Fallon. He seemed like he was in a hurry to get somewhere, but he stopped long enough for a quick pic! Say Cheese!

They had a couple of shows we attended at Universal. We went to the Fear Factor, the Hollywood Horror set and finally the Famous Animal show. Skyler was lucky enough to be chosen out of the crowd to volunteer with the trainer. He had birds fly down and land on his head and Dogs and cats climb on his lap for a show. He received a nice little pin for his participation. We loved the ET ride, Revenge of the mummy, transformers and the rocket ride.

As we were leaving the park, Skyler mentioned that he thought he saw Noelle up on the huge jumbo television at the exit. I looked up, but didn't see her. I saw other athletes for the summer games and mentioned he probably just thought he saw her. It took us a while to reach the exit and as we got closer to the Television, sure enough, Noelle was front and center! I was pleasantly surprised that I, too made the jumbo television at Universal Studios and had to take a picture. Skyler was screaming "You made it on the TV!!" People started looking at me, I told him to contain his excitement and smiled at people taking my picture (just kidding, no pictures, just funny looks).

DAY 4 (NASA Space Museum)

Skyler has always loved learning about space and Aeronautics. We loved learning about the history of the space program and where it is headed. We were able to see parts of each space shuttle including the one his Great Grandpa Wright helped build when he was working in California. His company designed the black thermal tiles found underneath the aircraft.

On our tour, we were also able to spot a few alligators lazily soaking in a few of the irrigation ditches.

A perfect trip must always come to an end. I hope Skyler and I get to do this again in the near future. Thanks for letting be come along Sky! We made forever memories!!
