Spring Break Adventures!

The first part of our Spring Break Adventure was hanging out with the Hafen’s and Grandma Woobie.  Taylor headed to California for a business trip so the kids and I did some brain storming. We quickly unpacked from our trip and decided to go skiing the next day at Powder Mountain and then travel to Jared and Jodi’s in Idaho the following day. Luckily it was a good weekend for the Pikus kids! Skiing was great and Auri has really started catching on this year!! Thank goodness, my back couldn’t take teaching another child;)

On Wednesday, Jayden helped me drive to McCall Idaho where we rented a room and stayed the night. We had dinner and of course, it wouldn’t be a trip without swimming. We woke up the next morning and headed to Grangeville where we met Jodi and headed over to the kids school to surprise them. They were very surprised and excited as they walked out of the school and saw us hiding behind the corner. We headed back to the Pikus house and hung out. We played games, talked and had dinner which I bought from Costco to make things a little easier with us showing up last minute. The kids made soft serve ice-cream in the Pikus’s new ice-cream machine.

The next day, after a morning of hanging out, I took the kids to the local hotel where they could go swimming.  You have to get creative when you live in a small town. After swimming, Jodi and I were able to go visit sweet Isaac’s grave. The headstone turned out amazing! After we returned, we all piled into the cars and headed into town for pizza and arcade games. The kids had a great time and even came away with some small prizes. We made it home early enough to watch the movie “The Greatest Showman” which the Pikus’s had not seen yet. Now they can’t stop singing the songs!!

Jared didn’t have to work on Saturday so we decided to go to the park and play Frisbee. It was a little chilly and started to rain so we didn’t stay long. We headed into town where we had hot chocolate at a little boutique. Then it was back to their house to play Spike Ball, card games and eat dinner. It was well worth the long drive to hang out with the cousins again. We left early Sunday morning and stopped in Boise to go to Sacrament Meeting. Luckily Jayden is a great driver and drove half way home!! Spring Break 2018 was Amazing!!
