We drove into the city of San Francisco, but decided to park our car and take the public transportation system to get us around. Our first stop was Fisherman's Warf, of course! We looked at the shops, saw the sea lions and had to each get a bowl of Pier 39's famous clam chowder (except Auri who had a Bread turtle).
Then it was on to Alcatraz, one of the most famous Prisons in America. It was a 30 minute boat ride over, then we each put on our headsets for a self guided tour. The kids loved listening to the prisoners that escaped from digging a hole with metal spoons. No one knows what happened to them, but it is speculation that they died in the frigid waters.
We couldn't see San Fransisco without heading to Ghirardelli Square and sharing a couple of ice cream desserts. Then onto the trolley. We ended our day going for a ride across the Golden Gate Bridge and taking a few pictures of San Francisco's skyline with the bridge in the back ground. It was a packed day full of adventures and well worth it!
