For our ward camp this year, we missed out on reserving a few places due to our large numbers and waiting until October to reserve a spot. Our Camp Director, Sister Oborn, really needed a cabin to stay in along with a few leaders who struggle to camp. So my friend, Shonnie offered their cabin and property near Woodland. It was perfect! We had a place for most of the leaders to sleep indoors (I was outside with the girls where I like to be) and we had several hundreds of acres for tents, roaming, hiking and playing. It was a perfect set up, especially since we had a kitchen to use. We also were smart and reserved a trailer with bathrooms that the girls could use.
The first day, we set up camp and played a few games. We had a guest speaker come that night and went to bed early. The next day was our Lake Day at Jordanelle Reservoir. We brought both of our boats (Janson drove one and Taylor Drove the other) and had one more from one of our camp leaders. The girls mainly tubed the entire time. We had to take turns due to 60+ girls attending camp. They had a great time and the weather couldn't have been more perfect! We played volleyball and built sand castles. We ate sandwiches for lunch and ate pizza for dinner. We got back just in time to sing songs around the campfire and once again, went to bed at a decent time. The next day, we made bracelets, crafts, hiked, played games and of course had our guest "Dead Annie" meet all the new girls. We had a service project as well. The Wright family needed us to pile up sticks and logs that had fallen in between the trees. We made it a competition! It's amazing what 60 Young Women can do in 1 hour! 4 large piles. The Wrights were pleasantly surprised. We had our incredible testimony meeting that night, sang songs and went to bed. We were all awakened from sheep that were herded onto the property the night before. We were glad we didn't have to spend another night with them. Then it was a quick stop at Grann'y s for a shake in Heber and home. It was a successful camp especially since I got to spend it with Aysia and there were no injuries! I love our Young Women!!
