Jr. Luxelles were excited to perform some of the dances they had been working on for the past few months for the upcoming football games.
Every year the Drill team hosts a Princess Ball fundraiser. Aysia has been Vanelope Von Schweets and Super Girl in the past. This year there was a Weber State Intensive that Aysia felt very strongly she should attend due to her wanting to try out for Weber. Her coach Lexi supported her decision so mom sent to the School to help where she could for the Fundraiser. At the end of the Princess Ball a few of the boys showed up with their "I love Drill Girls" shirts to help clean up. Aysia was sad she had to miss the Princess ball but was excited that she was called out on every dance at the intensive to showcase her dances to the others watching.
Ayisa had Nolan choreograph her solo this year to the song Change Your Mind. It seemed appropriate since she lost a friend to suicide this past year and decided to dedicate it to Chase who has struggled with addiction for years. Shauna and Kass showed up to support Aysia at the Miss Drill Competition. Aysia slipped on her 540, but danced it extremely well and took 2nd place in her group. She was happy with her placement, but knows she could have done better. Luckily she has more competitions to prove that she can dance it better.
Auri's Vista Heights Dance Company team was able to head down to Cedar City to compete their team dances against other schools. Her team finished 2nd place which they were so excited about. Auri loved staying for 2 nights in a hotel with some amazing friends as well as attending some dance classes and watching a Shakespeare Play. Before they headed down to Cedar, they performed their dances at a drama and dance team showcase to get ready for the competition.
We will miss our Friday Night Lights now that the Football season has ended. Aysia performed at her last High School football game. We are hoping to enjoy a few more years under the lights now that Auri is getting closer to High School.
