AUGUST 2024- MISCELLANEOUS

The Westlake Drill Team requires each of the team members to fill 6 volunteer slots for BYU concessions to earn money for the team. Usually we fill them by going to 2-3 games since we don't have enough people to fill them all at one game... until this year! With Skyler returning home and Auri being old enough, we signed all 6 of us up to help at the concessions. It was a the busiest concession night we had ever been too. There was little time for a drink break but the kids rocked it and we were able to keep up with the food and sales. We have an amazing family!

The bishopric dresses up once a month as a character in the book of Mormon and share his experience with the Primary. Dad was one of the 2000 stripling warriors this month. He grew his hair out just for this occasion.

After mom and dad watch Jayden and Skyler play soccer, they offer to take them to dinner. Jayden didn't have time to go out so we took Skyler out for a seafood and meat buffet. He lost a few pounds on his mission so we were trying to fatten him up a little.

Dad always keeps himself busy with his calling. YM's camp and weekly activities fill his schedule on a regular basis

Auri is excited to start the new school year and the fun that comes with being part of the Jr. Luxelle team. They learn a lot from the Varsity team and are able to perform with them at a few of the events.

And so we begin again with our Tuesday lunches. The faces are a little different at the beginning of this year versus the end of the last, but Aysia is looking forward to making the best memories with it being her Senior Year.

Welcoming home Skyler's friend Aubrey Prestwich from her mission to Texas

For Christmas, Auri was given tickets to see Hamilton at the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake. Dad wasn't able to make it so we made it a girls night out with Grandma Pikus and Grandma Woobie. We had watched the TV version of the musical, but seeing it in person with the talent the performers had was incredible.

After 2 years in the making, our back yard was finally complete with artificial turf, pergola and lights. It was a lot of hard work and sweat but we were proud of the way it turned out, just in time for Skyler's homecoming.

Aysia's friend, Aiden Bayless was headed to Minnesota after his friends supported him at his farewell. Many of these kids graduated and are moving on from high school. A lot of memories were made and a lot more to look forward to!

We hired Colin to take Aysia's Senior Pictures. Aysia wanted them before school started so she could be tan and the background would still be green. We can't wait to see the end results!

This was one of Aysia's last dates with Isaac before he would be leaving on his mission. They made Garlic Biscuits. They broke up just prior to him leaving thinking they would continue to correspond while on his mission, however he chose not to continue the correspondence allowing Aysia to move on and enjoy her Senior year and all that she will look forward to in the coming years. We wish him and his brother Mason the best of luck. Aysia had an amazing Junior year with the new friend group she joined along with Isaac, but closing one chapter gives way to New Beginnings and new experiences.
