Mom asked Aysia what she wanted to do for her 17th birthday. She asked if she could invite a few friends to Gege's Bike Shack in Draper to eat pizza and play games. Gege was nice to open the home to us, but unfortunately the day of the party she let mom know it was no longer available since she had a friend going through a rough time and needed to stay there. Mom frantically tried to come up with a plan B 4 hours before the party. Aysia was so sad. So Mom rented a hotel room in Park City and let Aysia invite a few girl friends up. They went to dinner, went shopping, swam, played games and just talked. The next day mom and dad let her invite a few friends to the lake to go boating. A few of the kids surfed but most just wanted to tube. It wasn't exactly the birthday party Aysia was hoping for but hopefully mom and dad were able to make up for the failed plans.
June is a big birthday month for our family. 3 birthdays in 4 days, Grandpa Todd's and Grandma Pikus's are close as well. Mom made sure the entire neighborhood knew it was Aysia and Dad's birthdays. Of course Dad wanted to make homemade pizza's to celebrate and we invited Grandma Woobie to join the celebration. Aysia really wanted Noah Kahn concert tickets for her birthday. Mom wasn't planning on buying her a ticket since mom and dad had already bought the family Imagine Dragon tickets. Mom decided to buy the ticket last minute and the pictures say it all. She couldn't stop crying after she opened it. She was ecstatic, you would have thought she won a new car. It ended up being a great birthday after all!
We invited Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner and cake and ice cream for Grandma's birthday. We made sure carrot cake was on the menu since it is her favorite. Andy was in town with Kaitlyn from California for a visit so it ended up being a great family party and a great reason to celebrate and incredible person!
