Homecoming week did not disappoint this year. It started off with the Powder Puff game, Junior's vs Seniors. Aysia wasn't able to play last year due to dance so she was excited to join in the fun this year. Several boys signed up to learn the Drill team 1/2 time show while others cheered. There were several more boys on the Drill squad this year than the cheer team compared to last year. Many of the boys had shirts made that said "I love Drill Girls" on the front with a picture of their favorite Drill girl on the back. Duncan wore his shirt with Aysia on the back proud. The boys did such a great job during the 1/2 time performance. and to top it off, the Senior girls won in the last 2 minutes of the game against the Juniors. They were down the entire game and came back for the win! It was a great way to start the homecoming week off.
Mom was able to help decorate for Aysia's last Drill Homecoming dinner. 4 years has come and gone and she has grown so much. She gave her Senior speech with only a few tears and thanked her parents for supporting her throughout the years.
Since Auri was in Student Council, they were in charge of a booth at the Homecoming carnival giving stick on tattoos in exchange for tickets.
The Homecoming game was super fun. Dad, Mom and Grandma and Grandpa Pikus were there to cheer Aysia on during her half time performance and support Lacee who was nominated as one of the top 5 contenders for the Homecoming Princess. Noelle and Janson walked her down the isle of band memebers, drill team and cheer leaders. Although she wasn't chosen as princess, she was excited to be the top 5 in the 6a school. Noelle and Janson stayed for a bit until Lacee was ready to go as it was the first football game she attended in high school. Westlake even came home with a Win which is rare for them. It was a great game all around!
When we returned home from the homecoming game, we found a surprise waiting for us. Someone toilet papered our house which mom got a kick out of since she used to do that when she was younger. It didn't take long to clean up and grateful the sprinklers didn't come on.
