Making Lemonade out of lemons!

When mom was at camp, she received  a call from Shonnie informing her that their Lake Powell trip that was supposed to start the next weekend wasn't going to happen since the days we were supposed to be going were mixed up and our timeshare time was the week before meaning that we missed the trip. She felt horrible, but we knew we wanted to do something. After calling around, trying to get a last-minute houseboat rental, Shonnie mentioned their cabin by Oakley was available. It wasn't Lake Powell, but it was the second-best thing. We were still able to plan Lake Powell in August which was a little harder on Ayisa since she wouldn't be able to go the entire time AGAIN due to her drill schedule. But we worked it out that she would be able to join us for a majority of the time. We also let her invite a friend to the cabin as well as Lake Powell which made her happy.  So, we enjoyed the outdoors in a little cooler temperature up North. We road 4-wheelers and dirt bikes, shot pot guts, played games, watched movies, went hiking and fishing and even enjoyed a day out on the water at Jordanelle. The water was much colder than Lake Powell, but we had a great time and all the kids got up surfing. It was nice to squeeze in another little getaway and still be able to look forward to Lake Powell later in the summer.
