For Auri's 9th birthday she wanted a birthday party, but we have always had the rule that you have a party or a big gift and since she wanted a bike, she wouldn't have a friend party as well. However, since COVID began all of the bike inventory disappeared.  She asked if she could have her birthday present early so she could enjoy it through the summer. We said that would be fine until we looked for months and months for a bike. Her favorite bike was a rose gold bike with gears, but after looking for a few months, she said she would be happy with anything. As her birthday approached, Mom and Dad realized that her wish for a bike would not happen so they told her she could have party and when a bike became available, we would buy her one. Mom was out running errands the morning of her birthday and felt like she needed to look at Walmart one last time for a bike although she had just looked 3 days prior at the same store. When she found her way to the outdoor section she was pleasantly surprised that they had a large shipment come in that morning and one of the bikes was the exact bike Auri wanted. Without telling Auri, she bought the bike.

Auri wanted to make her own cake and cupcakes for her birthday. She did a great job with the Unicorns. They went to the park for cupcakes, then to the Legacy Center for swimming. She gave out squeezeits for the party favor. She came back for a party with the family. After eating cake and opening her other presents, she heard a knock at the front door. When she answered it, she found her favorite bike waiting for her on the porch. A great way to end a perfect day!
