Jayden's mission call was much anticipated. He ended up turning his papers in just before the pandemic closed everything down which usually only takes 2 weeks before the call is made, but with 2020 comes nothing normal and he had to wait an additional 3 weeks before his call was made. In addition, we weren't supposed to have large gatherings so we had Grandma & Grandpa Pikus and the Pace family join us along with all of Jayden's friends on a video conference. All of his friends were getting calls out of the country, so naturally many of the guesses were out of the country. When he read his mission call, he said he had been called to the Boise, Idaho Mission speaking Spanish, French and a hint of Mandarin Chinese... He definitely caught people off guard and it was a little silent, haha! Then he read his call... Phoenix, Arizona!!! He said he had his own confirmation that this was where he was supposed to go. He was called to Serve, no matter the location. We are so excited for what's in store for him and know he will be well taken care of by the members in Arizona. Another bonus for going stateside during this crazy time is that all the other foreign missionaries are being reassigned to the states and their future mission locations are unknown, they aren't sure they will even make it to their original call destination. We are grateful for Jayden's desire to serve, he will be an incredible missionary and Arizona will love him!
