For Christmas, Auri REALLY wanted to go to Disneyland with her friend Swayzie. But mom mentioned it probably wouldn't happen since Swayzie and her mom already went to Disneyland 3 months before. Well, on Christmas day Auri had to solve a little puzzle and found out that she was not going to Disneyland, but Disney World. She was so ecstatic until she found out that Swayzie and her mom couldn't join us. It definitely took the wind out of her sails. She was excited to still go, but was definitely bummed. Then 20 minutes later she received a call from Swayzie who said she got a Christmas present to go to Disney World with Auri and her mom! It was worth the little secret because the screams and giggles coming from the girls conversation was worth the wait. So we planned, bought our ears, got our pedicures and manicures and were ready to start our adventure!
DAY 1
Travel Day! Dad dropped us off early at the airport where the girls were able to sit together and craft while we flew to Orlando. We rented our car and got there just in time to eat dinner and get into bed early so we could start our Disney day right.
DAY 2
We decided to drive to the park and take the monorail over. It was a bit crowded so we missed the opening of the park. Luckily we bought the MAX passes that mom was able to manage and get us on extra rides throughout the day. Our first ride was the 7 dwarfs, since the line was so long we sent the girls to the Little Mermaid ride next door so they didn't have to sit around so long. The weather was perfect! The day before was cold and rainy so we lucked out with the weather but it definitely added more crowds that day. We played charades while waiting in lines which made them go by faster. We ran into Natalie, Mom's hair dresser, in adventure land which was fun. While we waited in line for the Monster's Inc. show the girls wanted to buy a mickey mouse ice-cream treat. They came back and said they gave it to them for free since they had cute Mini Mouse hairstyles that mom was able to do for them that morning. The Monster's Inc show was so fun since Auri was called out of the audience to participate in the show. We had to wear masks any time we were waiting in lines in doors which wasn't always pleasant, but well worth being able to make the trip. Our favorite ride of the day was space mountain which we were able to ride twice when the crowds thinned out in the evening. On our way out we were able to watch the fireworks. We had a long, fun day and the girls were excited to take their cute hairstyles out at the end of the day and get into bed where they fell fast asleep.
DAY 3
Universal Studios was a must on our agenda. We got there just in time for opening. There were much fewer lines here than Disney. Our first ride was of course in Harry Potter Land, The Escape from Gringots. We were also able to walk around Harry Potter's village and even buy some butter beer which Auri loved. We were able to ride on every ride and see most of the shows. Auri loved the Rockin' Rollercoaster most so we went on it a second time while Misty and Swayzie grabbed a snack. We loved the Bourne Spectacular show which was a stunt show. Once again the weather was perfect and we ended the day a bit early with a churro since the lines were short and we were able to see everything we wanted and some things even twice. So it was back to the Hotel to eat dinner and swim. It was another early night in so we could get a good night sleep before heading to Hollywood Studios the next morning.
DAY 4
We made sure we were at Hollywood Studios early enough to get in line before the park opened. We had our day planned and bought our MAX passes again to get the most out of the park. We started in Starwars land since we heard the lines there were usually the longest, up to 2 hours, later in the day. We were able to get on the first ride within 40 minutes which we were excited about. After a few rides including toy story and Slinky dog we ate lunch and watched the Beauty and the Beast performance. The girls bought some trading pins before the trip which they were excited to find all of the trading stations we could find. They traded several pins throughout the trip which was a definite highlight. Auri loved the Disney App I was able to download on my phone for all the photo options it gave us. We absolutely loved the evening since we had a few rides waiting for us on our max pass. The Tower of Terror was our favorite and we were able to avoid the 2 hour wait. We also loved the Rockin' Roll Coaster that felt similar to space mountain. We stayed until it closed and definitely got our monies worth with the MAX pass. It was a great way to end the trip. We ended up leaving early the next morning which we were sad that every good thing must come to an end. Misty and Swayzie were definitely great travel partners and the girls made some great memories together.
