We didn't have a lot of open time over the summer between all of the kids busy schedules to get away. Aysia only has a 2-3 week moratorium to vacation in the summer. We had originally planned to go to Lake Powell with the Wright family during this time but unfortunately their houseboat didn't pass inspection due to an issue with their pontoons so we weren't able to go at that time and had to postpone until August. So Mom asked the kids what they wanted to do or where they wanted to go since we had to go with plan B. They all decided to have a stay-cation. We started by heading up to Park City and renting a room at the Best Western near the Olympic Park. We then went into town to window shop, eat a great Mexican food and take some epic pictures around the town. Then it was back to the hotel to swim and play a few games in the room.
The next morning we woke up and headed to the Olympic Park. The Ariel jumpers were practicing their jumps into the water which was incredible to watch. The kids wanted to tube down the big ski jumps so mom sat down below and watched while taking pictures cheering them on. The next day the kids wanted to tube the Provo river, so instead of buying an excursion online we bought our own tubes and went at our own pace. Auri was mom's little buddy for the float, holding onto each others tubes all the way down and steering away from the trees and rocks on the side. The weather was Hot and a perfect temperature for the cold Provo River water. It was definitely relaxing and we felt like altogether we had a great little get away. It wasn't Lake Powell, but it was a close second.
