Little League World Series - GO LINC!!

Everyone knows its a young baseball players dream to make it to the Little League World Series. Linc was asked to play on an All-Stars team in St. George for the past 2 years. Last year they were hoping to make it to Regionals in San Bernardino, but they had to be ranked 1st in the state. It came down to the last inning and when they thought they won, the Umpire recalled a play that was unfair for Linc's team and lost. Unfortunately costing them a trip to Regionals with a long shot to the World Series. This year was another story. Linc was 12 this year, the oldest age to play in Little League. He and his little team were able to win enough games and tournaments to be ranked number 1. They were ecstatic to make it to San Bernardino and were hoping to just win one game knowing they would be up against the best of the best. Well, they not only won one game, but ALL of their games, Many of which they had to come from behind to win and made it to the World Series!! They were rushed from California to back East to Pennsylvania where the fun began. Unfortunately, 2 days before their first game one of Linc's teammates, Easton Oliverson, and pitchers for the team fell off the top bunkbed at the facility hitting his head and almost died. They life-flighted him to the nearest hospital where they had to do emergency brain surgery due to internal bleeding. He had a very slim chance of making it but was able to pull through. It was really tough on the team. The entire World Series teams rallied behind him as well as all of the Major League Baseball teams sending him well wishes. It was neat to see so many come together but very hard and scary. He ended up slowly recovering and was able to be flown home to Primary Children's Hospital about 3 weeks later. We are hoping for a full recovery but brain injuries take months and years to heal.

The team wasn't able to win any games, but they fought for the 3 games they played in and their hearts were with their Team-mate. Easton's 10 year old brother was able to be named as an alternate in his spot so it was fun to cheer him on from home in Utah. Linc was even able to pitch a couple of innings and had a few good plays in the outfield. They were the first team from Utah to make it to the Little League World Series - Way to go Team Utah!
