Elder Yates Update -TOP 10
#1 We had a mission tour with Elder Pieper who is the North America Southwest Area President. It was such a cool experience to have him come to the mission and I honestly learned so much while he was here.#2 It was meetings galore while he was here. We had 2 meetings on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, 1 up in Prescott on Thursday, and 2 on Friday. It was kind of a lot but it was also a whole lot of fun because I got to spend quite a while with Elder Pieper which was cool!#3 In one of the zoom broadcasts with Elder Pieper I was asked to roleplay with him which was pretty sweet! He is such a good teacher and i am grateful that I was able to be taught by someone who is an especial witness of Christ.#4 I was able to do a one on one interview with Elder Pieper and it was awesome! He just knows so much and has so much wisdom and knowledge. I asked him how speaking in General Conference is and he says that there is a lot anxiety that takes place but the spirit is able to take it away when it is time to give the talk which is pretty sick!#5 Our boy Nick entered the waters of baptism this past week which was awesome! He was so pumped to be baptized. It was super funny because our member fellowshipper who is his friend was able to baptize him and he definitely made sure he was all the way under the water. I have never seen a more aggressive baptism, it was quite spectacular to witness. He was so happy when he came out of the water and we are just super stoked for him!#6 We had the opportunity to go to the temple again and to do baptisms again with 2 recent converts and it was such a good experience! Kaila (who was baptized just over 2 weeks ago) went for the first time and she loved it so much and she has been telling her family about how she wants to be sealed in the temple with them and her family might be interested in the Gospel which would be so cool!#7 Jordan (who was baptized last week) recieved the priesthood on Sunday and it was awesome! He is so excited to go to the temple as well as pass and bless the sacrament. Another recent convert namrd Sam who lives with Jordan and was baptized about 5 months ago also received the priesthood and was absolutely stoked about it!#8 A recent convert in our ward named Randon who was baptized about 2 years ago finally had the strength to get a temple recommend. He has always been too nervous to get it but he finally went through with it after a long long time and we are so happy for him! There has just been some amazing stuff happening in the Glendale YSA and I feel super blessed to be serving in such an amazing ward!#9 Transfers are taking place. After 2 transfers of being here with Elder Hamilton I have the special privilege of running it back another transfer with him. We will continue serving together for a 3rd transfer which is going to be a lot of fun! I have never had a companion for this long before so it is going to be pretty sick to go another 6 weeks.#10 We had to go on a rescue mission for 2 Elders who had their car stalled in an intersection. We ended up driving there and trying to get there car to neutral but because of the model and make of the car it doesn't allow you to manually shift it to neutral. Eventually some members saw us 4 missionaries trying to get this car out of this intersection and got out and tried to help us. Nothing was working and the car was not budging and there was a tow truck on the way and all of the sudden the car started up and they were able to drive to the mission office. It was super random that it just all of the sudden just started to work after being dead in the intersection for 30+ minutes. The funny part of the story is that we were planning on retiring that specific car from our fleet the very next day and it just had a spazz attack the day before. Luckily they were able to get it where it needed to go and we got everything figured out. The lord works miracles.
