Skyler decided in 8th grade that he was already done with secondary school. So mom asked him what his thoughts were with taking college classes early and graduating with an Associates Degree when he graduated High school. He thought that sounded amazing. So Mom and Skyler met with a UVU counselor his 8th grade year and planned the next 4 years of his education. Because Westlake is such a large school they are able to offer many more opportunities to the high school students including almost all the college classes you would need to graduate with a degree while in High School. He only had to take one class not offered at the high school so he was able to still have a High School experience while going to college AND at nearly no tuition cost. Skyler rocked it and graduated with a 3.98 with all of this AP and college courses. He will be attending the University of Utah after his mission where he was awarded several scholarships. The hard work finally paid off. Graduation was a little unique this year with Covid, they had a drive by graduation. Dad wasn't able to make it since he was away on a business trip, but we made sure he could hear us cheering Skyler on all the way in New York, Way to go Skyler!!
