Halloween Traditions

We absolutely love October and all the traditions that come with it. Saratoga Springs always put on a great Halloween Festival for the families to get everyone into the spirit. Auri decided to go with her friends Giselle, Lia, Nisi and Megan. They were able to grab food from the food truck, play games and of course play on the bouncy houses.

The first snowfall is always and exciting time. Auri had to make sure she was dressed appropriately for the weather.

Auri wanted to go to Cornbelly's with her friends Rhyse and Alyx. So when mom dropped them off and they begged for the haunted house pass as well. They had a great time except when Auri had a spark from the smores fire land in her boot and burn her ankle as well as her finger when she tried to pull it out. It definitely blistered and left a war wound. It will be a memory to last a lifetime. Rhyse decided against the haunted house once they were in, but Alyx an Auri seemed to make friends with the actors trying to scare people.

Mom and Aysia were invited to a Masquerade Ball with the Young Women's where we dressed up and enjoyed eating from the chocolate fondue fountain.

It wouldn't be Halloween without Frightmares at Lagoon. Auri decided to take her friend Daphnie this time. The haunted house lines were a little longer this time so the girls were only able to hit one and mostly enjoyed the rides and watching the zombie dance and performance. The best part of the night was the Nutella scone we ate just before leaving. Some of us ended up having more on our faces than in our bellies. It was clearly delicious!

Auri's dance studio always allows the kids to dress up for their classes the week of Halloween which makes for a crazy fun class especially when one of your favorite teachers really gets into the Halloween Spirit.

Mom and Auri invited Grandma to visit the Witchfest at Gardner Village with them for lunch and to shop. Auri couldn't resist getting her face painted. Mom also printed out the scavenger hunt for Auri to find all of the witches on the list which we were able to accomplish. While we waited for our lunch reservation we had to stop and get dessert first, an incredible caramel apple from the chocolate store.

Look what Auri came upon while shopping for her Halloween Costume... Straight out of my nightmares!

Auri's dance studio, Ultimate Dance hosted a haunted house for the younger kids and asked if any older dancers wanted to dress up as Zombies and scare. So Auri and her friend McCall jumped at the opportunity and had a great time being on the other side of scaring at the haunted house rather being the one scared.

Of course it wouldn't be Halloween without carving pumpkins! We watched a Halloween movie while carving. Instead of tracing out a pumpkin design the girls did a great job creating their own. We are ready for our Trick-or-Treaters!
